Do I need to bleed the air out? Like when you do the water pump?

metalgodkill says:

great vid. thanks

Val L says:

Hello, how can I check what I need to change, cooling line or radiator?
coolant is leaking only when the engine is working. Thank you.

drew10101963 says:

@Christaxi81 I’m not sure? I would have to look it up. does anyone know if
its the same part on a 1997?

David Jewell says:

I just replaced this part in my 2002 Chrysler Town and Country. I found the
part at Autozone for $51 and similar on Amazon for $27 +$10 delivered.

ThroughtheFlood says:

hey i was working on a town and country and there was a leak. not from this
pipe but from the rear housing of the actual pump. there was a rubber hose
connected to the back or so i though. when i reached to see if the hose had
a leak it was flush with the rear of the pump but was loose. I am looking
for the part number of the piece that connects to that hose that goes into
the back of the water pump. I searched all over with no luck. if anyone can
help please reply.

bewiens says:

Thank you so much. For some reason my Haynes manual is wrong here, it says
this pipe is for 3.0L V6 only but I have it on my 2001 3.3L V6. It seems my
problem is a failed o-ring where the pipe enters the water pump, but by the
looks of it the pipe will probably fail soon as well. Now I just have to
deal with the fact that I just snapped the head off the bolt on the back
connection at the pump 🙁

Remi Daviet says:

Just saved 120$ thanks to you

Faye Weekly says:

Many thanks! I’m glad I decided to read through the comments again. I
linked this comment in the Dodge forum about this fix too. I’d provide the
link but YT wont that.

Constantine T says:

Can you please tell me if this can rust on the inside as well? I have some
rust colored sludge that near the coolant fill cap. Do you think it can be
from this part?

washington07 says:

Part name: Water inlet tube. Labor at dodge dealer $300.00. Part value at

You are great! Thanks, you saved me hundreds of dollars!

NoShadowOfDoubt1 says:

Great thanks for posting

tytotheler92 says:

Thanks for the information. When I noticed ours last oil change on our 05
T&C I thought it would be fairly simple, but its even more simple then I
thought! Rock Auto sells the part for $20.00 + around $5-8 shipping. It
might also be a good time for a new lower rad hose. Anyways, the part
number for the tube is: DORMAN Part # 626304

NoShadowOfDoubt1 says:

Rockauto.com has this parts for less than half the price of Autozone…

Billy Teubert says:

It’s called a bypass hose tube

Tom Rogers says:

What size socket do you use for the two bolts?

Brian Jordan says:

Thank you

Billy Teubert says:

At Autozone, Advanced Auto, and O’Reilly’s

n2o4me says:

EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Couldn’t Get Any detailed or Clearer, This
is the Best DIY on A Car Underneath I’ve Seen.

drew10101963 says:

@Riker1964 I think it was 8mm

drew10101963 says:

The 2 top re 8mm and the bottom is a 10mm GL

Phil Feldman says:

Yes they do. Check Rockauto.com

gotanypop says:

Thanks so much for posting this, my 2006 caravan with 98000kms just started
running hot. Sure enough, this pipe is weeping fluid and rotting. Just a
matter of time before a good hit on a pothole shook it apart completely
then lose all the coolant.

Billy Teubert says:

Search for it by part#626-304

zatoichi101 says:

Thank you for taking the time to post this!!! (I would also have liked to
have seen how you emptied the coolant. I know very little. But I did find
how.) This video helped me for sure!! Thank you again!

Isley Rodriguez says:

Did u have to lower the engine?

drew10101963 says:

@jaimeybarra2004 have to go to the dealer, the auto parts stores do not
carry the part.

Michael Moro says:

While you’re doing that, you might as well replace that lower radiator hose
too.

lrhansen74 says:

The Dorman 626-301 is the metal heater hose assembly. The rubber hose that
connects it to the water pump is just standard heater hose by the foot.
Bring it in to a parts store and they can match it up for you.

Joe L says:

I decided to do this project since my 2001 towwn and country was nearing
90k miles. Bought Dorman part on Amazon. Only $28 with free shipping. Big
mistake. Made in China. Installed and uninstalled 3 times, as it leaked
badly at the water pump. This was only when refilling the radiater, never
even got to starting the engine. Finally put original back in and no leak.
Bottom line, if your going to do this I recommend getting the part from the
dealer. Job is pretty simple though.

thisisunreal1 says:

….or, it’s the two pipes going to the rear heater, right where they tack
weld that stupid metal support. Rots those pipes out real nice!

Christaxi81 says:

Is this on a 97 as well?

Faye Weekly says:

Thanks for the video. I have a ‘new style’ caravan and this works for mine
as well. I posted a link to this in the Dodge forums so others can find the
fix. There’s another leak at the “y” connected and mine was leaking at both
points.

drew10101963 says:

@thisisunreal1 yes

Spartanacus says:

Thanks man! I was happy to self diagnose the problem (not a car guy), but
wanted to be better educated before calling the shops for estimates, and
your video re-assured me. I don’t want to blindly go into shops anymore
without doing due dilligence. That’s where they burn you!

Khalfani Jenkins says:

Heater only working when 2007 Chrysler town and country is in motion or
being gased. No apparent leakage, thinking it may be a thermometer issue.
