Wells VE says:

The upper torque strut connects to the suspension strut tower and the lower torque strut connects to the suspension crossmember.
It also has like you said a transmission mount.

Wells VE says:

The engine mounting system and consist of a four-point system utilizing two load-carrying mounts and two torque struts. The load-carrying mounts are located on each frame rail. The right mount is a hydro-elastic mount and left mount is a conventional elastomeric isolator. The two torque controlling struts are attached at the front of the engine, straddling the right side load-carrying mount.

update:…now i hear there are 2 transmission mounts…part#3050 & part#2947 (based on Advance Auto Website)…part 3050 seems like something for a manual tranmission…i have a automatic

gregnice25 says:

i’m going to go off topic with this one but how many mounts are there for 2003 dodge neon? so far what i know of is the upper, lower engine mounts and 1 in the middle on the passenger side which i was told is transmission mount.

Vanessa Hernandez says:

thanx ur video help me out alot on my 2003 dodge neon ur awesome @ fixing cars

Wells VE says:

As long as you get the new sensor lined up to the same position the original one was, it should be OK.

Vanessa Hernandez says:

I have a broken locking pin for my camshaft position sensor on my car would that affect it?

Wells VE says:

It really is not a big problem, but it is possible. Well taken care of and 80,000 the chances are very slim. Be sure you are using the recommended oil weight for your vehicle.

Glenn Laycock says:

If the cam is moving too much — is hard to fix, or a big problem? The car only has 80,000 miles, so I doubt the cam would be worn … oh I mentioned the engine “ticks” .. yes only on start up if it has been sitting a few days, and it stops after a minute or so. Thanks for you advice btw.

Wells VE says:

Electronics can fail anytime. On your vehicle the cam sensor is also the thrust plate for the cam. Take a look at the cam sensor, if there are deep grooves from the cam shaft hitting it, it may mean the camshaft is moving too much. PLease let me know what you find.

Glenn Laycock says:

I had my cam senor replace on July 27th last year, the code came up again the other day. I just had them reset the computer as it seemed to run fine once I restarted the engine. Could a cam sensor fail so quickly? — 2005 Dodge SX (Neon) —

Wells VE says:

Do you have a labscope? Or are you looking for the instructions to install the cam sensor? Either way I will need your e-mail address. Send me a message through my channel with all the information, year, make, model, etc and exactly what you need. I will be happy to send you all the information. Don’t forget your e-mail address.

xD14NN3 says:

ok thanks for the help and send me that instructions. and i just perches a cam sensor

Wells VE says:

You will need a scope to properly test the Cam and Crank sensors on your vehicle. I am assuming at this time you do not have access to a scope. If you do let me know and I will send you the instructions. The next best thing would be to guess. My best guess is the Cam sensor. It is very common for the Cam Sensor to cause this problem. Please stay in touch and let me know what happens.

and also my timing belt and water pump.

xD14NN3 says:

i have a 1998 plymouth neon expresso 2.0L DOHC engine
and i have a all 4 cylinder misfires of a code P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304 Misfires…. and the check engine light only comes on when i am on the high way most of the time… I changed my EGR valve, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and PCM.

Wells VE says:

It is possible, but not likely. What is the year, make, model and engine size? What are all the codes you have stored? By 4 misses, do you mean cylinder number 4? You have to give me more to go on.

Mark Hicks
Wells Vehicle Electronics

xD14NN3 says:

I have a P0300 and 4 misfires would a Cam Position Sensor make this code?

Wells VE says:

The PCM uses the temperature of the battery area to control the charge system voltage. This temperature, along with data from monitored line voltage, is used by the PCM to vary the battery charging rate. The system voltage is higher at cold temperatures and is gradually reduced as temperature around the battery increases.

Wells VE says:

You are correct. Rear of cylinder head is the left side or drivers side.

Mark Hicks

nobleheight says:

How does the computer use the battery temperature signal?

nobleheight says:

Just making sure — When you say “rear of the cylinder head”, that’s the driver side, correct? The front of the cylinder head is the passenger side, correct?

nobleheight says:

Oh no. You forgot to plug in the memory saver!

Wells VE says:

I guess I dont understand your question.

Time for new car???

Psci St says:

The car would randomly stall on an incline. After stalling I wouldn’t be able to start the car again. It would crank but the engine wouldnt fully turn over and start. Sometimes it would randomly start on an even surface, but then stall after 1 minute of idling. After replacing the distributor cap, the car started and ran for 2 minutes, then stalled. I replaced the crankshaft sensor: same problem. Replaced the valve cover gasket due to an oil leak: same problem. Replaced spark plugs: same problem

Wells VE says:

The light does not always come on when the cam sensor is defective. What kind of vehicle, engine and problems are you having?

Mark Hicks
Wells Vehicle ELectronics

Psci St says:

Should the check engine light always come on when the sensor is bad?

Wells VE says:

We are very happy you like the video. We are putting videos together all the time, we do have two other videos that involve Chrysler vehicles. I will add the links to this video.
