Also as a note, when I started up the vehicle after the fact there was a hard misfire from cylinder 4 and what I ended up doing. Just letting the car idle and even revving the engine to about 1500to 2000 Rpm and eventually, the oil pressure settled and reset the lifters and the vehicle regained compression.

If the car starts with a misfire, just let it. Idle out and let the oil pressure settle. It should self-correct..

Guys, just buy the right tools. All you are doing is risking possible damage doing it any other way.

@Nyabanasara says:

So what about if you used force and tight

@KerriewayneAnsin says:

Why zip tie the spring?when you' have removed the rockers.and to put the rockers back in you have to compress the spring with a driver.or lever to slide the rockers in . anyway?it seems a bit redundant..

Mecânico ninja kkk

@donaldsmithjr2917 says:

i have one of these engines too going to try this trick on it. i'm going to try Mechanics Wire instead of zip ties and a bench vice to help compress the springs.

What if you already have the camshaft off. Can i just put the actuator on first and then sit the camshaft.

These 2.4 Liter Inline 4 MultiAir Tigershark Engines are very sophisticated units indeed! I have had a Dodge Dart SXT 2014 model with a 2.4 Liter since 2017 with no excessive oil consumption, coolant leaks, and/or low idle stalling! The key to making these 2.4 L. MultiAir engines lasting a long time is providing timely oil & filter changes with using the proper viscosity full synthetic motor oil of 0W-20! Confirm that your engine's squirter jets are properly spraying oil to the piston and its wrist!
