Great video, one of the best out there. It took me about three hours to do get it done. The 2005 might have some different hole placements, I couldn’t get to the 8mm bolts with the extension, had to go up through the bottom under the water shield. It was tough trying to twist and turn to reach em. Someone else mentioned that you put the lock mechanism in different on the installation, I only
caught it because the lock kept falling out when I was trying to put the bolts in so I went back and watched the beginning and saw that it was in the handle from the outside. All my pen clips broke taking them out, so now I have to find some, hopefully amazon has some otherwise I’m at the mercy of the dealership. Thanks again for taking the time to put this out there, I’m sure there a lot of people who can use it to save some money. Now I have to find a video for the driver side rear door, that one broke first but it wasn’t that serious because it’s pretty much just me riding. When the driver door broke I knew I had to get on it ..peace

Great video, amazed at the rust that is starting. Thirteen year old vehicle, seems manufactures skimp where ever they can. Thank you for sharing. Dealers are charging/quoting hundreds for this replacement.

I have been dealing with the same broken handle for about three years now. Definitely a design flaw on the part of Chrysler and a lot of work for a $15 part, but not much to do about that. Your video will make the process a lot easier for sure. My car sits in the garage over this winter, but this spring it will finally be getting a new handle. Thanks for the great video. Nicely done man !!

Glenn Sage says:

Thank you, Gringo – your instructions were very helpful. We just finished this job! It took my wife and I exactly three hours. Here is our post-mortem. Thanks to you, we avoided removing the entire Water Shield, and were able to lift up just the lower half and access everything. We were replacing the front passenger exterior handle. Not having a small ratchet to fit in the tight space was a problem, but we improvised a small Vise grip holding onto the 5/16 socket perpendicularly. Another hassle was with the retaining clips, we fortunately had purchased a kit of assorted retaining Clips to replace the ones I mangled!

Luke Morgan says:

Hi gringo great video. I’m trying to replace my passenger door and under the weather shield I’ve got like a black plastic insert that won’t allow me to get to the latch rod or bolts, yours doesn’t have this how do I remove it and does it need to be put back in as it looks like the only way to remove it is cut out with a knife

Buzz Anderson says:

The only sticking point we have on all the doors is the part where you say just push the wire into the purple plastic piece that holds it in place. HOW the hell do you do that. We've pushing and pushing and the damned thing won't push in and lock. Danged near broke finger tip It is ALWAYS the sticking point. Goddarn but it will not push in. ANY suggestions. we have an o6.
