this Chrysler is actually not mine… it belongs to my coworker…
Its a Chrysler get used to working on it,I own 2 Sebrings if you owned these cars better get a manual for it.
ctd. IOW after driving it, it may or may not restart. The fuse i have in now is a 30 amp, which is holding, but i am still having an issue with it restarting. I hear the clicking of the relays and the starter when this problem occurs, so unless you have never replaced the starter and want to due to high mileage on it, i suggest checking out wiring issues first. I have contacted a well trained mechanic i know and am waiting to hear back from him. I will message you when i get a response.
I have not replaced the starter yet. I am thinking it is in the wiring, or relay somewhere. The problem i am having is intermittent. Sometimes it starts, and runs with no problem, but usually if i turn it off after driving it even for a short time, after taking it somewhere, it will not restart. I am wondering if it may have something to do with the shift interlock system on it. This problem only occurs after the vehicle has moved and then put in park, and attempted to be restarted. ctd.
after you replaced the starter the fuse still blown after several amount of time?
there is a shortage somewhere sometimes it’s very hard to diagnose were exactly…
thank’s for your comment…. i will try…. this is my friends car…..
Change the starter first. It requires removing the front engine mount and the block it sits on. A lot is involved with it, but you will have access to the wiring if you take off the front block mount, and air cleaner system if all you want to do is check the wiring for a short. You can also use a volt meter on the starter to see if it is getting the proper voltage. Mine had a fuse blow, i put a 30 in, and it starts most times, but will not restart after being driven sometimes.
i doubt that it’s a starter… you have a shortage somewere in the car that’s why fuse blown… if it doesnt blew with 30… keep it running like this….
Hi I have 1999 sebring convertible I changed fuse and got it boost it blew 20 fuse, so i switched to 30 fuse, boost and now it doesn’t blew, however although car has all lights working while getting boost it doesn’t start. my interior light doesn’t come on even when im getting boost. everyone’s telling me its the starter, do you guys have any last minute advice before i go change starter ?
not a problem….
you save me a lot of money
use a light try to find a disconnected grounding wire… or maybe instead you have a shorted somewhere. in my dodge neon 3 motor mounts broke compressor start spinning on top of wire harenes and cut off 6 wires… 5 different fuses always were burning…
yes you have one of your grounding points in disconnected condition…
I did this and it worked. However, as soon as I changed it and tried to start it, it blew again. I put another fuse in and it worked. I’m curious, did you ever have any other troubles? If so, did you determine the cause of the blown fuses? Thank you.
