Got another one for you. My Sebring recently flooded inside the body, and I
found a drain hole on the driver’s side that had been smashed shut. I
opened it with a screw driver and water drained for several minutes, but
now I hear water sloshing around in the back part of the body. Nothing is
leaking into the cab, but I’m a bit scared it’ll happen again. What am I
missing? I cleared all the drain holes on the sides with a screw driver and
they looked open.

Much thanks, syyenergy7 I will try this this evening when I get home. I had
been calling Chrysler dealerships all over Virginia and they knew nothing
about this kind of problem.

syyenergy7 says:

Usually you will see debris come out with the water.

my car is a movable boat.. full of water.. so sick of it.. Worst Car Ever..
I wish I would of seen this video before buying this stupid car

Eddie L says:

Do you know of an easy fix for leaking around the top of the windows?
Specifically where the window meets the convertible top when it’s up, and
where the two windows meet the top.

sal ricci says:

Hey PLEASE help asap. i just watched your video, threw my car up on the
jack and opened up and cleaned out all of the drain plugs down where you
showed. I then stuck my hose in the hole you pointed to at 1:41 to see if
it worked. Plenty of water came out threw the holes and no water came
inside. Also i used the coat hanger trick to clear out the drains in the
windshield. So it rained last night, moderately, and in the morning there
was water underneath the rear mats AGAIN. What else can i do?

robinreheard says:

Thank god you were a life saver because mine just flooded out ! Thank you !

syyenergy7 says:

Check the trunk. Often that can fill up if water does not run out through
the drain holes.

syyenergy7 says:

Most commonly this is the fix. If you still have the problem, let me know.

lenovoi5 says:

Thank you sir. My gf is thinking of buying one of these and that was one
slight issue with it. Glad to know its a simple fix.

Marian Y. Short says:

Thank you – trying it now!

syyenergy7 says:

I found out about this several years ago when the car’s carpet became wet
with rainwater. I opened up the drain slots a little wider and never had a
problem after that.

Charleen N. Smith says:

How often do you drain the holes? I’m here in Florida and its rainy season.
It will rain from now to September.

syyenergy7 says:

It could be leaking near the top of the windows. If you tested the area of
the top on the bottom where it meets the car body with a hose and that
shows the water coming out the drain holes, then you know that part is
fine. It could be a gap between the rear window & the front window. I have
a video on adjusting the windows and also the upper limit stop. Check the
weatherstrip also. You could sometimes put something behind old
weatherstrip to help it contact & seal to the glass.

Diana Mackey says:

Thank you so much from Florida!

syyenergy7 says:

I haven’t done anything in a few years. If you park under trees you should
check them more often as something could clog them. I opened up the slots a
little bit more so I doubt I will ever have a problem,

Danny Drye says:

Thanks… I will check and see which side is clogged.

Daphne Walker says:

I’ve been needing this, my car keeps water from the rain and I have to
vacuum it out it takes forever for it to dry then it smells, I always
thought it was the roof and I can always hear the water stuck in the driver
side back panel I love the car but I hate this problem I’m going to give it
a try. When I unclog will stuff come out if will I need to clear it out?

syyenergy7 says:

You could try to find some replacement weatherstrip if your is damaged. Or
put a thin piece of rubber behind the weatherstrip to make sure the door
glass touched the weatherstripping and makes a seal.

Derrick H says:

Thanks for the video, I was wondering where the water drained from my
top….and what do you know both of mine were clogged!!!
