Thomas Snyder says:

I have a 1997 tahoe and, thanks to your awesome series of videos I still have it . I never did a head gasket job before. I kept this series on my ipad next to me . It came out perfect!!! Thanks for such a in depth and helpfull video. You helped keep a beloved member of my family on the road. Your the best dude . Cheers !!! Keep up the good work!

robinsonsauto says:

Its all good pay no mind, most likely this is someone with another channel feeling a little jealous hiding behind another name, hence the new account, most likely created to leave negative comments, the only ones that mater are you my followers and my clients, we know what it takes let the haters hate, if they have nothing constructive or educational to say we don’t need them anyhow, each to their own

Autumn Owens says:

I’m stuck trying to remove the power steering pump reservoir. Where and how many bolts are there? By the way great video very informative, positive note the video sound stays level the entire video, nice music too. Thanks Will!

Mason Sterling says:

Sketchy ass work place

Michael Lanen says:

Man, I have watched your videos for this job many times and could not work on this without your help. One question; I have a burned exhaust valve and noticed that there are several different sizes on the market. How do I know which ones I need? I have a 1999 GMC suburban K1500. Thanks again and keep up the good work!

vince grossmann says:

11:48 now thats starting to look more like a real engine!!!

gilderbeastbrett says:

How did you take off the power steering pump?

Ryan Hamill says:

Ticks can be loose rocker arms, or even unadjusted valves. I was going to say piston slap but you said when its warm it still does it but quieter.

rick martin says:

I had a 1998 Chevy Silverado with the same porblem. I did the job my self and it took me 3 days, and never done it before. I was very maticulus on the bolts and parts. I bagged the bolts and labled them as to what part it went to. When I was done I had no extra bolts left and all back together. By the way great video.

isaac0187 says:

Great video. Have a 350 5.7l vortec and need to do exactly what you just did in this video. Thanks for all the help.

brent underwood says:

i got a 1998 z71 with a 350 vortec and it makes a loud tick noise when i coldstart it then once it warms up it gets a bit quieter what do you think it could be?

mike w says:

…..And as i returned home, i noticed i was spittin out oil all over the drive way, parked my truck and hasnt went anywhere since. Its driving me crazy because i got layed off and now im broke an had to take the tags off an everything an still clueless of whats really goin on with it.

poonjobbyprick1 says:

Hey, i have a 1994 Chevy silverado 5.7L 350. I drove to my uncles thanksgiving night and then after that when i left, i started my truck up and it sounded like it was “choppyish’ and louder…. Ive had an oil leak for quite a long time, an half way through the ride back home i noticed a shit ton of smoke coming out from under the back of my truck, i dont know what the hell happend and apparenty i blew a gasket but no one has really did any tests or even deeply looked at it.

Reid Washington says:

just did my intake gasket on my chevy vortec. now i have a lope coming from my engine

wannabmech says:

Thanks for the series. I know it will help many. Im slightly mechanically inclined ive recently replaced my transmission on my 99 BURB successfully. Horray! But now ive got the starbucks oul. Shucks! This is my sole famly transport, and im nervous, but also confident in my work. Im an attention to detail type of person (or as my wife says OCD).
What would you put the chances I dig in and my truck ever runs again? Thank you for using your energy in sutch a positive way!!!!!

brent underwood says:

i have a ticking sound in my 350 vortec in my 98 silverado its loud when i first start it then gets quieter when i rev it goes away any suggestions?

Frederick Bock says:

At least you are honest regarding incidents and gives others better habits

mwd92 says:

whats the cc on stock vortec heads

k5krusher says:

These 4.3/5.7 Vortecs have a really shitty distributor design too,The base is plastic where the distributor cap is held on and the threaded ears can snap off,Common problem,If that happens you have to buy an entire distributor,I had to zip tie one side of my distributor cap on.Worked surprisingly.

robinsonsauto says:

Thanks for the compliment, are you loosing coolant or just oil?
these engines are notorious for lower intake leaks, if its in the back get yourself a small inspection mirror, clean/decrease the engine and monitor pay close attention to the lower intake once it starts leaking down it may miss lead you to believe its a head gasket,
also watch around the distributor and oil pressure sender
takes a little time however with these steps it should lead you to the source of the leak

raydogytm says:

I have a leak in my small block chevy near bottom rear of the heads I’m seeing motor oil now its leaking on the street and I can clearly see its not the valve covers is this the head gaskets? Or an easy fix in other area if anyone can help please for now I’m gonna buy some stop leak thx and I posted this here cause this guy looks like he knows his s*** and don’t know how to email him

JOE BADERNAISE says:

superdick305 says:

but the water is in the oil again and i have a top end tap like a rocker is tapping so i just decided to pull the heads. so far i only took off air filter housing from throttle body to fender, fan shroud, battery and started losening the compressor and alternator. i started late last night thats why so little work was done, but it looks to be a lot and im bad with remembering where bolts and wire connectors and harnesses go, so im gonna get some string label tags and masking tape.blue devil sucks

superdick305 says:

i have a 2000 tahoe limited, it has the same motor also. i just started on this same job yesterday but i think my head gasket is blown, i had water and white smoke coming from the tailpipe, water mixing in the oil, and a bottom end knock. first i replaced the creamy oil, and tried that blue devil, it worked that day but the next day the water mixed back with the oil and smoke and water from the tailpipe again, and knock was gone. but now its working again, no more smoke and water from tailpipe..

Joshua W says:
