My friend has a GMC ENVOY ITS BATTERY DIED AND LOST MEMORY.IT HAD ONE BAD
COIL BUT THREW A PO300 code.I never got had a clue it was one cylinder. The
Gmc on board computer could not sense what cylinder.take my advice I never
thought it would be so elusive.get a live data scanner so you can read
whats going on and not feel like a schmuk like me…

Aaron Melo-Martinez says:

i had the that problem and believe me is very depresing , after i expend
like 3,000 going from mechanic shop to the dealer and no one was able to
find out what it was. but finally i found a dealer in cary nc that has
profesional technicions and guess what it was……….”.relearn the
crankshaft sensor” i am not saying that will work for every body but i
worked on my truck! if you have P0300 you should look in to that becouse
that is what fix mi problem. good luck

Aaron Melo-Martinez says:

am sorry to hear that u have that problem but i hope u have find the

B Schneider says:

how did you figure out they were weak?

rene ortiz says:

How much is it to change the coils?

tank2232 says:

check the preasure regulator had one today that was leaking fuel into the
intake through the vac line. good luck

fakegotee says:

I have a 2004 2500HD 6.0 with the same problem. Still havn’t figured it
out. Get a better scanner that shows each individual cylinders with a
misfire count. In my case, it truely is random. The only other thing I can
think of since you have done almost everything else is: 1st. Do a
compression test on multiple cylinders. Possibly a bent/burnt valve. 2nd.
Plugged up Cats can also cause this, some shops/tech schools can do a
backpressure test.

Crank relearn..

pepelepue80 says:

@ilicklabia69 i hear ya man…check engine lights depress me too. I thought
i was the only one. that shit keeps me up at night. Hope you were able to
resolve. take care.

ldicker says:

Water in the gas? Siffon that out to empty and check that there’s no water
in the fuel. Check all wiring for cracked sheaths and cracked connectors.
Did you check the ECM?

B Schneider says:

I’m having the same problem with my truck. did you ever figure out what it
was? Thanks

Kona138 says:

Keep a pack of wipes in the truck by. I use my 02 every day for work and
she’s CLEAN.

enjhcrpx2 says:

we had the same problem on my 97 chev silver. i found out it was too much
compression. it was stumbling as well. try running it with 91 gas instead
of 87.

SuperGeokiller says:

my tahoe does that and found out that every coil on the passenger side of
the motor is bad

onefast95z says:

did you do a crank relearn?

blacktooth11605 says:

spray some carb cleaner or ether around your intake manifold while at an
idle. They sometimes develop a small crack(plastic intake). If your idle
changes that’s your problem. It’s pretty common and costs around 280.00 to
fix.

B Schneider says:

how did you figure ou they were weak?

muddykart04 says:

ya it was weak valve springs on cyl 3 and 6, put in all new springs and
retainers and problem was solved

muddykart04 says:

i forgot about this video, i no longer have the truck , turned out it was 4
bad valve springs, i changed the valve springs and no more miss fires

MrChevyman95 says:

mine was the exact same. I re learned the camshaft position sensor with a
GM Tech II scan tool and it has been fine ever since. i believe the
procedure is called ” Camshaft correlation Re-learn. “

tss212 says:

check cam and crake sync and retard

tjking291268 says:

I have s 99 5.3 and it throws the same code and has a rough idle, changed
coils, plugs wires, map sensor and throttle position sensor, starts fine
cold but slowly dwindles down to about 500 rpm and starts the random
missing and has a really hard time starting when its been running, can
anyone help??

chevyblows2001 says:

@ilicklabia69 4.3?

RMA0673 says:

My 04 mdx doing the same thing…change catalyst converter

killman1971 says:

@melocts My father had random misfires on all cylinders (P0300) and
transmission shifting problems. After five different places troubleshooted
it he found out that TPS wiring harness was bad (after replacing the TPS).
Also the IAT and CTS if flaky can cause problems especially with
transmission shifting. Lastly people need to check their exhaust manifold
for broken studs which can allow air into their exhaust screwing up the O2
sensor readings.
