Mark – you are the man. Bought this kit at Wally world and found your
video. I know enough about wiring to be dangerous. Found the leads under
the rear bumber on my 1995 Explorer. There was a proprietary connector of
sorts there. Snipped that off, found my four wires, matched them and
crimped the blue connectors on. Done in 5 minutes and it works perfectly.
Now to find a trailer hitch for a 2000 Caravan…

I have the same question, and I can’t find the answer anywhere. My trailer
now has running lights, left and right turn, but no brakes. Last I counted,
it takes five wires for all that (with ground), but these 4 pins are
supposed to somehow magically work for brakes too?

Mark Jenkins says:

Hi, I’m sorry I miseed this in the video. I’d have to test this, but I
assume that when you apply the brakes the second filament in each bulb
simply gets power. The power does not go through the blinker switch.
Remember these bulbs are dual filament. One is the tail light and the other
is blinker brakes. There is no magic, only illustrations. I hope this
helps, and again sorry to have missed this. I can post another vid and test
this if you like.

I didn’t hear or see any info on the brake lights. How are they handled
with this four flat configuration?

Awesome, I hope it helped! Have fun!
