Great video, I have a question and hope u can help. Will this sensor being bad cause the brake light and battery light to flicker briefly when car is idle? I have a 2005 eclipse and when i reve the engine up all is good. but when it gets down to idle for a few seconds the batter light and brake light briefly appear. also the a/c blows less and lights are dimmer. could this be all associtated to the TPS?

Mary Jo Phillips says:

your video really helped my dad and I. He knows how to work on cars, but never worked on a jimmy (which is what I have), and even though this is a blazer, it helped both of us learn how to test the tps. we were having such a hard time til I found this video. Thanks sooo much!!!!!

Archie Fernandes says:

Very good video ; would only add to use a safety pin to pierce wire instead of stripping insulation and then use liquid Electrical tape to secure small hole penetration , less invasive

I finally went for the Fuel Pump…fixed the problem….a real pain taking the gas temp out without a lift…but not too bad after all. About a 4 hour job all together.

Hey man, mine was the cat. On the muffler side it was all afloat. A big chunk ofte honeycomb was spinning just right. No power, surging and hesitating is what it was doing. Going up hills it was a dogp becuase that chunk was sliding back and blocking the cat output.

can you run a car without a TPS? just for starting purposes not to actually drive around

Mark Jenkins says:

Thanks man!

Cool Gibson or Epi? I own an Epi, but will have the Gibson one day! Just crawled under the blazer and listened to the cat… laying there looking at it and thinking about how much I hate working on exhaust. I decided to drop it, went to grab the grinder and no wheels. This must be a sign that today is not the day to frig with it. At least this is how I see it.

audioeast1 says:

Dude…I’ve got the same guitar you have on your wallpaper. Les Paul Classic, I’ve put all gold hardware on it as well…looks cool.

audioeast1 says:

Ya a bunch…103 MAF, (Checked voltages and cleaned), 113 Intake air sensor, (Replaced), 131 o2 sensor, bank 1 +1 (Done nothing with that) 151 o2 bank 2+1 (Done nothing with that either and 405 EGR sensor voltage low, (Done nothing with that either) Replaced the fuel filter, distributor cap and rotor but no plugs…(Pain to get to them….) any Ideas? Maybe a clogged Cat but I banged on it and nothing came out..haha. How about you?

audioeast1 says:

Just in the nick of time…I’m battling with my Blazer bogging down when I nail the peddle. So I went out and checked the TPS last night at 2am. Was hoping that was the problem but it checks out, so back to the drawing board.
