What I need, is a map of where the hose goes under the right side, and then down, and then all the way to the back, where it enters the rear hatch. There ought to be a way to replace this Brittle black plastic rear wiper fluid hose.

Mca5517d Mca5517d says:

This doesn't help. The hose is cheap black plastic, and it breaks everywhere.

Tino Gutierrez says:

why didn't you do this process when changing the bottle?

tona6g72 says:

I just did this on my 2004 Silverado 1500 Z71 5.3l v8 4×4 electric shift and I found out that you do not have to remove part of the splash shield, you do not have to remove the battery and you do not have to remove the battery tray.

I just unhooked the hose by the battery and then laid down on my back, got underneath the truck and just unhooked the lower hose from the washer pump.

Since GM is all retarded and varies from year to year to year, month to month and hell, I would even say day to day, I would check and see if it's as easy as it was for me.

Pam says:

I did this repair on my 2006 Chevy Suburban, and after having the battery unplugged for over an hour it wouldn't start and was acting like it was stuck in the anti-theft mode. The vehicle would turn over and barely start, then shut off immediately, the key fob wouldn't work, and the door locks/windows would't function. The dash lights, radio, headlights, etc DID work when the key was in the on position. However, the anti-theft dashlight was NOT lit up nor was it flashing. I tried the 30 min three cycle reset twice: on for 10 min then off for 5 secs x3 and that didn't reset it. Finally, after hours of googling, I found as an aside note that advised unplugging the battery for half an hour and then with all doors closed connecting the battery and then using the key fob to cycle through the door locking and unlocking. THAT did it. It turned right over and all systems are functional. I just wanted to leave this comment here in case anyone else runs into similar issues.

Your videos are great, thanks! It's absolutely crazy though that they design it so you have to take apart half the front of the truck just replace a windshield washer fluid hose.

Shane Miller says:

need rear hose replacement I have the hose coming down from the back but don't know where it goes under the truck

Ryan Mozisek says:

My hose is broke several inches where i goes to the wipers. What do i need to replace that section of tubing. It is the portion of tubing above the battery

MBailey1977 says:

Having issues with my 2005 Silverado. When you go to use the windshield wash the fluid pours out the bottom of the truck until the bottle is empty. What's weird is it doesn't leak when u refill the bottle. Just when you use it.
