I used this to help me do it on a 2006 Silverado 1500. I had two extra clips to remove to get the Drivers side Panel off, one towards the front which was just a plastic one with some teeth, and towards the back of the truck there was another bolt with a Torx Head. But everything else was pretty smooth, so considering it was -16 Celsius or about 3 in US degrees when I did the job, I appreciate the time this video saved me in doing the job.
I’ve been looking for a video to see how to replace that rod forever and not even 1A auto helped. Thanks so much for saving me the trouble of figuring it out myself
Great video, right to the point. No annoying music.
Some @sshole tried to steal my '05 Silverado 2500 HD Short Bed Extra Cab 4X4, 3 days ago. He punched the door lock and broke the handle escutcheon. He was unable to steal My truck because the 7 year old battery finally went stone dead 5 hours earlier and the starter wouldn't even click! I came here looking to see just how to do what you've done in the video. Thanks for Your explanation and voice over. I like how the format IS NOT rushed and you speak calmly and smoothly. I think this really helps those who are easily frustrated by doing a task like this.
Are the cylinders interchangeable because someone tried to break into mine and broke the driver door one could I use the passenger one and replace the passenger door handle for one without the cylinder hole?
nice video..
Thank You sooo Much!!! Helped ALOT!
He has to try one of them silverados with thee ah new fangled electric everything in the door that just jumps right out at ya unexpectedly and takes big bites outta your hand and fingers..
How do you install the retainer clip onto the lock cylinder so that the clip doesn’t fall off?
