@1aautoparts fo you have a video showing you guys changing the lifters in a 5.3 engine?
Overall ok but misses the boat where he loosens both vertical rods to the cylinder lock and the plunger lock. No need to do this, plus its a pain. Just skip those steps and remove the 3 external bolts holding the latch itself on. Once this is done the latch itself has enough play to access it and remove and install the new cable
This looks so difficult. My driver side won’t open from inside or out. To repair it at the dealership is too expensive…where can I order this part?
He never hooks the handle back up
I had to dremel tool a hole to get the second clip to come out, to hard of a reach area to manage to remove the pins on the cable. Overall, great video on how to do the task!
window handle removal? Oh wait there is a special clip and a way to remove it?
Both of my doors wont open from the inside or out what do I need to do to get one of them open
Looks like he skipped the part where the cable attaches to interior of the panel. All this work, and you would still find yourself having to roll down the window to open from the outside.
perfect.. my passenger door finally locked itself.. both inside and outside handles cant open the truck .. Need a solution on how to top the door… 2010 model. ofcourse silverado 4 door LS
You don't have to do all of this, forget the rods, not necessary.
As soon as you get the panel off take the the three bolts out of lock mechanism, push forward to opening in door, change out cable, reassemble.
I got lost, at what time did he connect the cable to the handle?
Is it just me or did he not connect the cable to the interior door handle?
