You’ll need a 1/4″ drive ratchet, a 7/32″ or 5.5mm socket for the 2 fasteners. Unplug 2 wiring plugs . The resistor is BWD #RU869 or Standard #RU51 . This one came from Car Quest for $35

Today being Sunday. I had to replace the resistor on my GMC Savana because it went down from 2 working settings to 0.
I would have NO clue how to go about it if not for your video.
An excellent analysis of the problem and hands-on instruction including even the numbers describing the resistor which I used at the store to help locate the proper one.

I have a 2004 express 1500, I am in need of finding a blower motor resistor, it it burned out, my resistor does not look like this one, it's more longer
and flatter which I cannot find on any online auto parts. I even went to the online GMC dealership and they don't have it, do you know of any
place that would sell a blower motor resistor for 2004 express 1500.
At 3:21 of video I had the same response" Oohh!" I gave an issue with 08 express climate controls not working at all.The window defrost button won't even turn on so there's a power issue.I checked the three climate control (hvac) fuses in the fuse box under the seat and they are all good. I'm lost. I remived the control unit from the dash and checked for power at the harnesses and I got 11 volts on one pin of one harness and around 8-8 volts on a pin of another harness. Any ideas ? Could the control unit be bad?

Heard a loud pop after turning my fan on high. Fan no longer works at any speed, any idea what caused noise? Gonna replace motor and resistor ASAP. Thanks
