I don't know how much the dealer charges to do this, but I brought the keys to a locksmith, who said he didn't have the right kind of battery, and that I would have to go to a locksmith that specializes in auto stuff. Hah! Excellent, very clear instructions. Thanks!

I replaced the battery but my fob isn’t working. I’d there another step after replacing the new battery? Car won’t start or to unlock or lock.

Very helpful. Thank you. However I didn’t use a screwdriver to pop it. I ejected the key and then put in the tip and rotated the key. It popped right open.

CR 2032 battery cost $6 at Autozone. No tools needed, a butter knife will separate case and pop out battery. My battery lasted me 2.5 years.
