There’s nothing wrong with bondo. You just need to know how to use it. People just think bondo covering up rust means its fixed, out of sight out of mind til your whole box is gone.
only tens years, I’ve seen trucks on the east coast that were worse than that in less that a year. my ’03 Silverado is starting to rust above the rear wheels, nothing like that, never been repaired before. thankfully i’m out west.

I know this is on the cheap, but box sides are not that expensive. Easy, fast, a few spot welds, and no bondo.

wow my new 1993 chevy 1500 is like that also on both wheel weels on the bed and also the botton body panels are rusted as well
