i had this problem with my 1999 malibu the ignition wouldnt turn i would
have to jiggle the key evertytime to start it now i got the ignition
switched and a new key the car starts like a new car easy to turn no effort
=]
If it’s a factory alarm, you may want to consult the dealer first to see
what they recommend. Some of those factory alarms can get tricky. Thanks

@tilou32 If your ignition key is hard to turn sometimes. Don’t wait though
because it could get so bad you can’t get it apart.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If your “Theft System” light in the dash flashes with the
key in the ‘on’ position but the vehicle does not start, leave the key ‘on’
for about 10 minutes until the light stops flashing then turn the key to
off then start the vehicle.
hahaha i cant believe i found you guys again. i bought a radiator for my 01
cavvy. now my iggy is messin up and im waiting on it to get here. so i
wanted to watch a tutorial before doing it and poof! here ya are again. hey
the radiator i bought a year ago got here on time and its workin just fine.

I am unable to turn the key past the off position. Is it still possible to
remove the lock cylinder?
You would have to get the key to turn so that you can unlock the cylinder.
why you change that what was the symptom was??
