I have a ’02 S-10 Blazer 4-door 2wd. About a year ago the power locks
stopped working. When I put the car in park all 4 doors unlock (So I know
the actuators are working). All 4 power window buttons work great. The
power lock switch doesn’t work from the driver’s side, passenger side,
release-hatch button inside the cab, or rear-hatch key hole/button…

I was wondering if one of these parts malfunction can it cause the power
locks to not work at all?

Thanks in advance.

It could possibly be that the motor sheared itself from the regulator and
is not turning the gear anymore but without opening up the door and taking
a look, there is no way to say for sure what the issue is.

i haven’t got to put my new door panel on my blazer yet and the master
switch panel got slammed in the door. now none of the windows roll down,
even individually. what all do i need to replace? the door locks go down
then pop back up but the windows are dead. your help would be greatly
appreciated.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check the power going to and from the switch with a test
light to see if there’s power going to it. You can use an ohm meter or a
test light to do this. Hope this helps you out. Have a great day,

Check the wire harness between the door and the body of the truck for a
frayed or broken wire that may need to be repaired. Hope this helps you
out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

Hey 1A Auto guys, what is the piece that the switch assembly sits in? I
have a ’94 S10 with a greyish interior and I’m trying to hunt down that
part. Is it like door trim or something?

)2001 s10 crewcab… drivers side power window goes down, not up. Removed
master power switch, cleaned with tuner cleaner, blew out with air. all
windows, locks work. I can hear the motor clicking, when I press the window
switch to go up, so I know power is getting to motor. Do I remove rear door
panel and clean motor???

What about a 03 Suburban, the switch does not pop out like this one?

T Girl says:

Hi, have similar problem 2000 chevy s10 blazer. Drivers side, all other
switches work the other windows except the drivers window will not work
now, I hear a clicking when pressing down on switch sounds like in the
switch unit itself. Is this the switch, the motor, or motor and regulator?
How would you test? I also checked in wire boot, found 1 wire small green
that had been cut, repaired it, but still nothing?

Thank you! So helpful and much appreciated!

I have 95 chevy as well. The only button that doesnt work is the unlock
button. Only reason why this bugs me is because i cant open the back now.
Anybody else have same problem? Will replacing this part solve the
problem?! Thanks

KR Kopf says:

On my 2003 Chevy Blazer the only button that does not work is for the
drivers window. All three other windows will go up and down just fine. I
listen as I try to get the drivers window to work and hear no sound from
the motor. This is stopped working one day. What do you think?

1A Auto Parts says:

It sounds like some type of master switch bezel.

1A Auto Parts says:

you may have to remove the door panel to access the screws that hold the
switch board in place.

Great video, I counldn’t have done this without your help!!!

Wayne Schreyer says:

Checked it further. Rear door window switch operates the same window
without a problem. It is the master window power lock switch, in the
drivers door. Ordered it from you guys this morning. spoke to Jessica.
Thanks for responding.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to check to see if there’s power to the passenger side window
motor.

All my windows except for my driver door works. I hear the motor running
when I press for the driver window to go down but it doesnt move. Could it
be the window is off track? any suggestions? Thanks!

DreamKiller811 says:

I have a 1998 S10 Blazer. The drivers window is intermittent, one day it
works, the next it doesn’t. All other windows work fine. Is there a test to
determine if it is the switch or the motor? Say by unplugging the switch
box connectors and shorting some pins together to see if the window will go
up and down (bypassing the switch box)? Thanks.

1A Auto Parts says:

You may want to test the wire going to and from the switch to see if
there’s power going to the window motor. If there’s power to the window
motor you may have a bad switch.

Thank you 1a auto! I never would have found the grey tab if you had not
shown the close up This also works on a 1997-1999 chevy Tahoe maybe earlier
models! Great videos great parts!!

1A Auto Parts says:

Your best bet would be to start with the fuse for the window motors and
then check the wires to see if there is a power wire grounding out the some
place.

1A Auto Parts says:

HI Wayne, You may want to remove the door panel and see if there’s a gear
on the window motor that might possibly be stripped, or if the window motor
has become tired. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

1A Auto Parts says:

If one button has gone bad on the master switch you would need to replace
the switch. Before you do that though, test the power to the door lock
actuator to see if it’s getting power from the switch. If it is, then you
more than likely have a bad door lock actuator. hope this helps you out.
