How to Fix Code P0521 Chevy Truck

How to Fix Code P0521 Chevy Truck

Silverado 5.3 liter engine 07-13 fix for code P0521. First check to make sure you are not low on oil. Then check the wires to the sensor. Then replace the sensor and little filter. I bought my sensor with filter from AutoZone for $50. It took about 30 minutes to change it out.

Do you think this is the same process for the 6.0 2008?

@kevinfraser640 says:

How do you get the wire harness off? Thanks

@carrtex says:

Is the same on a 2500 Sierra hd 6.0

@Theryougo1 says:

Did mine and check engine light cleared. But, now I have two permanent error codes displayed on my scanner P0521 & P0523! Any ideas why?

@tony3552 says:

I replaced it with zero swivel and disconnected bothpcv lines, anyways my cage still came out

@jeremylakenes6859 says:

So did you actually need to replace the oil pressure sensor or just the filter.

Great video man. Have to replace this little guy and wasn't sure how to do it. Cheers.

Have a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe….Although this video rocks and is very informative, it absolutely sucked replacing the sensor on my vehicle, due to the location of the part. As peeps in other videos stated, "It's a blind job."

@carlossotelo5420 says:

What else could it be? I replaced mine but it did not fix the issue. I get the issue to go away by blowing air through the orifice where the sensor goes every time I do an oil change. It fixes the issue for about 2 months and then it comes back and my gauge starts reading lower oil pressure.

@juanrojos78 says:

Is it common to change this out every couple months?

@knightpaulman4686 says:

Would this cause a no crank no start?

@matthewfrost532 says:

So my scan tool 2 psi off and 25 idle thanks for any help

I just bought a 2013 from an online dealer with 81K miles. The PO521 code came up on the way home, about 700 miles into a 850 mile drive. The truck runs perfectly. Any suggestions on where I should start? Replacing the sensor and especially the filter seems like the the way to go but any other advice.

Congrats on your success. I went out and bought all the stuff, including the socket. I can't even get the old one off in spite of trimming that heat shield. Can't even touch it climbing in the engine compartment. I've done quite a few repairs using YouTube . Anyway, I called a mechanic. Maybe because I'm 69? LOL

@zdenanrehhelber says:

I rather remove intake, is just 10 min to remove it

@47678092 says:

Hands down the best video for this fix. Last one I watched had the top end of the engine removed.

@HbkRiqqq says:

Would the code cause a loss of power?

@htwinprop says:

Great video, you made it look easy!

@BBrown-bx5qg says:

Thanks for the video! I was able to do this job in about 30 minutes. 5/16 bolt is definitely the size needed to get that filter out.
