Correct. With new rotors they should be shaved or “turned” already to
factory specs.

You guys don’t have the clip cause u cause didn’t buy your new pads with
the abutment kit or hardware.or u guys can buy it separate but u are
suppose to use it.anything the brakes slide on clips etc.should be replaced
at every brake job.

lol u guys were drunkk hahahahahaha thats hilarious but awsome job but
quick question so if i was to buy a new rotor theres no need to shave it
down?

Very cool that your significant other will help you like that. Good job to
both of you. A couple of tricks that my help you in the future. Get a
C-Clamp, that will be much easier to compress the piston in the caliper,
also use the old inside pad to avoid damage to the caliper and insure you
compress it flush with the frame of the caliper. Finally, take the cap off
the master cylinder, it relieves the pressure and prevents popping old/weak
break lines because of excees pressure when compressing the piston.

Major props to you! Your ability to instruct is very good, I don’t have
enough patience to do this, I always end up just doing it myself… To teach
a person is to be a real pro bro!

With new characters…Nonetheless great video and I am placing more of the
things I’ve never heard: . That’s much prettier. I want new shoes. Stop
yelling at me, please. ‘ Also, the bolt spacers are held with o-rings. Just
a little force to get them in, but you can do it by hand. . And the pads
use the spacers to pull themselves back when the brakes are relaxed. That’s
what keeps them from scrubbing. . Again great video from a lucky guy! .

A few things I’ve never heard while changing brakes: Isn’t there a Cadillac
converter? Pixie Dust! Is it gonna pinch me? Ewe! It’s slimy! and
finally… What’s that! You are lucky to have a wife/GF that’ll jump in to
the trench and want to help you with stuff like this! Tips though: Turn the
wheels opposite the direction of the side you are working on. It gives more
area to work around the caliper. If you hear dripping, that’s bad. The
reservoir for the fluid is overflowing. I ran out of charac

Dripping was the sink LOL

The hex key is a size 3/8 or 5/16 I think. Buy an ASE kit for like $15 from
Autozone with all of the BIG hex keys on a 3/8 drive ratchet for best
results. I just happened to have that hex key.

Good Job Sandy! My Blazer is metal to metal on the brakes, your video
helped me a lot. What was the size of that allen wrench? I have the C
clamp… just need to buy the pads and the allen wrench. Thanks ~ Donna

awesome vid!!

Topkin says:

are you sure the clip doesnt come off the old pads and clip onto the new?
the old ones also appeared to have the same slot as the new one that the
bolts slid past. or was it just the brand pad you bought?

doitlaynstyle says:

Thank you We had a lot of fun that night!

doitlaynstyle says:

Lol. You nailed it. We were drunk and didn’t notice the new clips in the
box. When we got to the other side we spotted it and had to redo the side
in question. Good fun
