Excellent video, thank you so much! I have a 06 Equinox, and I need to
check the transmission fluid, and most likely do a change. Can you do a
video on that?

Les Moore says:

Great video, thanks!

Lakisha Kearney says:

This is a great video thanks for posting it.

Good vid. Forgot one important step. Not sure if it applies to the 05 but
it does my 06. That is resetting the oil sensing indicator. After an oil
change you have to get in vehile turn ignition to on and pump the gas pedal
3 times, this will cause the oil light indicator to start flashing. Then
turn ignition off. This resets the oil sensor indicator which tracks when
your oil needs to be changed based upon driving conditions ect. It must be
done after every oil change or the light will get tripped sooner and
possibly come on before it’s actually due.

Matthew McGehee says:

Great video. I only have one small disagreement, and it isn’t with you,
it’s with most car manufacturers. Rather than putting oil reminders in the
computers, they put “oil system life” reminders. I’ve seen more than a few
cars that didn’t trip the reminder for over a year, including one with
9,000 miles since the last oil change. Also, if you change a battery, most
cars reset to 100% oil life and if you weren’t paying attention you could
have gone almost double what you should have.

My oil changes are a birthday alert on my smart phone, saved in my contact
as “ChangeYour Oil” every 4 months (I don’t drive a lot of miles and use
Royal Purple filters and oil, so I figure I can get away with a little over
4 months in between).

Cool I can do it 🙂 this will be # 2

Great video! Will do with my 2005 Equinox and I’ll save lot of $$$…since
here in my country (El Salvador) we almost don’t have Chevrolet support,
many mechanics are guessing when you get with them with your car…Thank
you a lot.

can do myself, l don’t need my husband to tinker with; this is what my
father and I used to do together, he did not make me fell inadequate. God
love him. I have the same make and model as your vechial. Thanks!!! From NS
Canada.

C00L. Thanks for watching.

I use the trip odometer to remind me of the next oil change, just reset to
zero. The window stickers are ok during winter in summer they fall off from
the heat.

wtbm123 says:

These ones are not to hard do. Thanks for watching.

wtbm123 says:

I could but would need to take the car for the whole summer . Would want
every drop of oil to drip out. LOL.

wtbm123 says:

Thanks for watching

wtbm123 says:

That is great, glad you tried and was successful. . A lot of places over
tighten the drain plugs making them hard to remove. Thanks for watching.

wtbm123 says:

That tipped me off ,that it was not the original filter. LOL. Thanks for
watching..

Yaheuben66 says:

Ahh– good call on cleaning the plug and filter to make finding leaks
easier…the voice of experience. Thanks Terry

dgrz1 says:

I have to use the trip odometer. I have a 07 Chevy Aveo and it doesn’t have
those kinds of bells and whistles.Great video

Good stuff Terry, that cars engine sure is nice and clean underneath. Mine
has tons of seeps.

My BMW 323 I dont even get on the ground. The filter sits next to the power
steering pump area. I pump the oil out though the dip stick… and i’m
done. Easiest car I’ve ever changed oil in. Filling your new filter is
always a great idea. Thanks for the awesome videos Terry

wtbm123 says:

Trip odometer Is a good way if you follow through and do the oil changes .
Most newer cars have oil change reminders. Thanks for watching.
