Those are 7mm bolts, not torq…..

frostyjac says:

Bruce, thank you, awesome vid, very informative
please tell me how to remove the OTHER piece of dash, the one closest the
windshield. I just bought a 2004 and that piece is broken and I want to
replace it if I can find that part..

veilside18gtr says:

Hey I have a question. Where did you get the wiring harness? I have an 03
cavalier and can only find a harness for up to 1999. I called a store today
and they said 2000-2005 is a special harness because of some data control
module. Did you find a cheap harness and if so did you have to take
different install steps other than the typical crimping harness to deck? I
just don’t wanna spend over 100 bucks on that damn harness.

Have to replace my cracked instrument planel on my ’98 Z24 coupe. When I
get another planel, I might give it a whirl and replace it, myself.

I just used these 2 video guides to install a new Kenwood. Wow, man, this
was PERFECT. I can’t thank you enough!

Alex Villeneuve says:

Just a quick helpfull reminder to people who plan on doing this, REMOVE the
batery cables connected to the battery only for your own safety.

pbjskater says:

Did you need to purchase any extra parts to allow your car to be compatible
with your aftermarket radio? I’ve got an “01 cav and I am thinking about
installing an aftermarket radio but I’m not sure if I need to buy any new
cords or anything like that. Thanks for the video man

Zoizite says:

Just put in a new stereo in a 2002 Cavalier today. It was easy after
watching this. Thanks =)

TechwizzKid says:

Before starting I’d just unplug the battery. You don’t have to worry about
shock, or the airbag going off on you.

AKidFromStPaul says:

thats what i was just thinking…

Josue Girald says:

Bruce I want to thank you for taking time doing this video. It was just
what I needed to do the job.People like you are really needed!

Coansnipes says:

Great video, its nice to finally see someone with the ability to hold a
camera steady.

dealftw says:

@christ85t I know walmart and schucks sell them but sincei am puting a
system in my 05 (got everything today but wire harness) Bestbuy told me
that the 05 needs a specail one that is 100 bucks or some shit so ima email
this guy about this cuz it seems kinda wired..they said that its a wire
harness with a specail piece or something cuz my factory cd player might
have other stuff running thro it like my air bag or maybe some other
stuff… so idk

BendSpeirs says:

Awesome video. I just repaired my cig.lighter / power port which had come
loose behind the dash. I can charge my phone again!! Watching your video
made it a no-brainer that took me less than an hour. ’95 Z24-Cavalier.
Thanks.

HvyMetal4Ever says:

Just a recommendation for you if I may. I would consider getting a couple
different tools. One of them is called a scew-driver, and the other is nut
drivers. Instead of using the torx bits you can use a 7mm socket(typical
size on almost all GM vehicles) I use a scew-driver and the 7mm driver in
my drill with the clutch adjusted. You can pick that stuff right up at home
depot for about $30-40 total..minus the drill. You can make that money back
quick doing some other cavilers 🙂 Great video!

Matt Struzinski says:

What tool/size do I need to remove the torque screws? Sorry I’m a noobie at
this stuff

PSNmojado4life says:

Thank you

ggknight18 says:

pbjskater says:

by the way do you have any suggestions on where I can buy a radio harness
online?

Shugo489 says:

Thanks a lot bud, I’m gonna try to fix my cigarette lighter soon so I can
get a GPS to take around.

jknieff says:

Totally awesome. Thanks, very helpfull

Bill Martorano says:

WOW !!! This video was great ! It was very useful to me when I installed an
instrument cluster on my daughters car. If I did not see this video, I
would have paid $280 to have the old cluster re-built. Instead I only paid
$75 for the part and just over one hour to do the whole job. Bill from the
land of HIGH TAXES, NEW JERSEY

SteelCity1981 says:

wow that’s pretty cheap of GM, you have to do all of that just to change
out your radio? WTF

Rob Davis says:

I love you. No Homo.

mrparks88 says:

great video man big help

trolldown says:

Nice Video. Can you tell me the kind of tools I need to use/get before I
start doing it?

ananimus3 says:

Fantastic. Thanks bro. Wanted to add some thin foam between plates
