This is Episode 241 of Mike Finnegan’s Garage and I’m giving you what you’ve been asking for…I’m wrenching on the Caddy. This time I fabricate mounts for the Nelson Racing Engines 88mm “Mirror Image” turbochargers. These patented and polished beauties are going to flank both sides of the 540ci Dart iron Big-Block Chevy engine block and aluminum Mast Motorsports 20 degree cylinder heads. This video will show you all of the tools and techniques I used to craft custom steel mounts for the turbos. Thanks for watching, I hope you enjoy the show. Want more info? Go here for:

Would thread inserts not have worked in the frame or at least tig welded nuts in the frame seems like would have been a stronger attachment point. JMO.
Pro-tip you’re likely to fall in love with. Next time you have to push a car, don’t push the car by any of the body panels. Simply pick a tire and just grab the tire itself and try to roll the tire. Once I figured this little trick out it made life as an alignment technician soOoOoOo MUCH easier. You’re welcome.
That magnetic tool is fantastic
Pushing the Cadillac around, that summarizes us driveway mechanics daily struggle…
PS, Thanks for stocking XL-2Xl hats, finally no headaches… But, I save it for a day not touching projects. Should have ordered 2. Keep one sweat, dirt free. Ha ha
I was helping you push
Get the proper sized pipe for oil feed and weld a nut into it. You have a hanger in 5mins. also you can map out whatever with white paper and a pencil If you have nothing else.
don't use that divided gasket during final assembly. No center support from the flange will melt that part of the gasket and destroy the turbo. I'm sure you knew that already.
I slather that anti seize likes it’s free.
Now we know why McFarland hangs turbos out the hood
this vs that ?
Hey Mike, – You need to install airjacks in that thing right now!
That's a great product you are showing on your channel. First it was 6.66 flashing on the screen with your drag time. Now you have liquid death drink. That literally says sell your soul to join and help murder. What a sell out. Use to love the show but I unsubscribed and won't be watching any more. Nevermind I will be deleting youtube. Sick of there woke evil crap. Let me guess next you will have trannys on the show and I don't mean a 6 speed.
Finn, what brand of magnetic LED trouble light do you use? BTW, where is the master cylinder and brake booster going to go with the turbo in place? Or, are you using a hydraulic break booster? Looks like which ever way you do it is going to be tight quarters…
Time for some self loading wheel dollys from harbor freight. Aka go jacks. F all that wood stacking and pushing to get a jack under the car. Slide wheel dolly under and lift car up via wheel till Jack will go under.
My old stroked out as in I wasn't supposed to walk again and I told them screw you I'm walking out of here Friday and I'm taking your walker with me. Only know the difference between up and down anymore because down is where I keep falling. But what the hell, while I'm down here I wanted to check this purple wire off the ignition switch to the starter anyways.saves me the trouble of getting down. I really enjoyed watching you push that overgrown Impala around.
I'm amazed you haven't installed a half height lift yet. Would save you a bunch of time
Why not just do v band inlet to exhaust side of turbo
I love your builds man, watching for years but 15min to just make a basic plate to hang the turbo temporarily…. yawn dood. c'mon… repaeting the same things over and over… its just a plate.. make it, move on. dont be me! #alwaysboost
I get pissed every time you use that air jack on your engine lift. The day you put out the video on it I went to pick one up and they had discontinued it. Damn Harbor Freight.
How are you lubricating turbo
Is that where the oil feed line goes for the turbo?
