@Ben Corcoran I have the 4.8L V8.
I have 4 (front and rear) brand new kayaba shocks out of the box wich do
not expand themselves at all when compressed.
It’s a question of design i think (gas or oil)
Not all shocks should expand when in good shape,it’s not a clue from what i
can see on my parts.

These.shocks have a lifetime warranty. Did you get a free replacement?
