I use Valvomax instead. 4 year so far with no leaks
literally says on box "dont torque on hex " … im sure fine but meant put crescent or 3/4 box wrench on square body of vslve
It's funny how all of the comments in every one of the Fumoto valve vids is full of people saying they wouldn't use one for fear that road debris could knock it open. LOL these valves have been around for YEARS. They are very well made, and I have never found a legit source where someone had one open accidentally.
In some applications, they are especially useful. I have an off road truck. There is a skid plate directly below the oil pan. You have to remove the skid plate to drain the oil, otherwise, the oil drains onto it and makes a huge mess.
Using a Fumoto valve with the long nipple, and a short length of hose attached to it, I can drain the oil very easily and cleanly without having to remove the skid plate. They are an awesome invention!

I can't believe you went directly against the instructions. You're only supposed to tighten it by wrenching the valve body, not the hex nut. They make that extremely clear. And on the instructions that came with mine, it says 1/8 turn after handtight, not 1/4, although I did find something online that says 1/8 to 1/4 turn. Did you even bother to read the instructions?
These drains great for aluminum engine oil pans. It’s keeps the fast lube shops from stripping out the threads (if they hire on a drug free work place)

I like it. How did you field test it? I would be concerned about road debris dead, animals, or anything that could hit it break it or accidentally open it. What about automatic car wash high pressure water or even a pressure washer at home?Yes I clean under there.
If something hits the lever hard enough it'll drain all the oil out. I wouldn't use it.
Put one of these on my boat but not sure it's a good idea on a car that's exposed to road debris ect.
