Excellent tutorial, Thank you for taking the time to make it. In process of
doing my buick with the same engine. How on earth do they expect you to get
a torque wrench on those bottom ones?? LOL
Any tricks to keeping the new gasket in place for the bottom firewall and
not damaging it on the way in?
+ I have spoken a couple of new words on this job.

2012nugget says:

@deapozol Very rarely, very rarely do you need a new one. Usually only when
you tear one or cut it on reassembly.

johnbrown1963 says:

do you know the make and model of drive pulley puller and installer?

elchevyguy says:

thank you very much for this video it saved me like 800.00 dollars! one
thing i would tell everyone is buy online ebay, amazon way cheaper then
local autoparts store!!

2012nugget says:

It’s just a standard three way puller. They are available at most part
stores, autozone ,pep-boys , napa etc. . Some places will even let you use
theirs with a deposit to secure return. I use a snap-on set, they are
rather pricey so for the occasional user I reccomend somthing a little off
brand. They work just fine.

chris King says:

Ok Thank you ill hv my mechanic check to see if I hv that type of damage!

chris King says:

And the only special tool you need to do this job is the pulley puller??

2012nugget says:

Sorry, been away and was unable to respond. They do get tight back in there
but you should be able to get them with a flex socket or by moving the
harness out of the way.

pkared1 says:

I can’t figure out how to get the last (2) bolts out that are under the EGR
valve on the right(near Firewall) I have a lot of sockets and wrenches but
I can’t get anything in there that I’d be able to move.(and Loosen) The
transmission case is always there in one spot or another. I cannot get the
water pump out(on 03 you can supposedly unscrew it with a tool) which is
why I am removing the crossover.

deapozol says:

Is it a good idea to re-use the old fuel injector o-rings or just buy a NEW
set of o-rings to re-install the fuel rail. The old ones MIGHT leak…

deapozol says:

You were very smart to replace the thermostat as well while you were at it.
GREAT video and job well done.

Mark1944089 says:

Do you think it was a rip off? That’s why I do my own mechanic work.

elchevyguy says:

they quoted me here denver… $900.00 + !!!! yup this was just like a week
ago.

Tuesday afternoon (9/18/12) My 1999 Deville started to leak Fuel from
Rubber/Plastic on top of the fuel injectors. I took my car to my Mechanic
and he said they don’t sell a little tiny peace of plastic for my car. so
now im in the hole with 600 bucks. he changes the entire fuel lines with
steel or metal like this car has ( your video DTS). I got the engine
rebuilt for $3,850, got the car for $2,400 then some little tlc was about
$2,000. I love my Deville. I will never sell it! Good video!THANKS

j 38816-a I bet you had fun lol

2012nugget says:

I would guess at around 600.00, U.S.

Mark1944089 says:

How much u think the Dealership would charge for a Job like that? Thanks
for the video….

chris King says:

Can you get away with just replacing the water pump if your leak just
started or do you need all of those extra parts?

alex ander says:

THANX FOR THE VIDEO MAN THIS IS GREAT THAT YOU FILM THIS AND LET US KNOW
HOW TO DO IT THANX ALOT

LeoLove77 says:

wow thats alot of work. thank god I have a 97 Deville as it has a different
setup for the water pump which I have replaced . Nice Vid

2012nugget says:

This one had a damaged tensioner and belt. If you wish ,a pump alone can be
installed with no issue.

2012nugget says:

That should do it !
