It seems to stall when slowing down and put endless money fixing the wrong
problem. I just checked and got some codes that were history and wrote them
down but when they were at the end I turned the key to off position now I
cant get the codes now. I got 4 but I wrote em down wrong because I was in
a hurry to write. u1255-ipm b1359-rim1255 and msm 1875 which is seat. It
wont show codes now somehow it clears them after from taking the key out?

Ryan Nelson says:

The codes only reset when you hit the “On/Off” button after the codes have
finished going through. What is your issue?

dee agionis says:

Does it reset the codes if you turn the key to the off position after
checking? I cant seem to get a code and there is a issue but it wont seem
to come up ever???

Bill Blackburn says:

I have a 2002 cadillac eldorado etc is there a way to chk and reset the
codes? Plesently has a TCC code but it does go into overdrive.

Ryan Nelson says:

The Eldorado’s use a different technique to check and clear codes. Check
around on the internet but I believe it involves using the Off and heater
control on the climate control unit.

Robin Baker says:

New to this Cadillac but you helped. I had a history of car codes to
inherit that are no longer relevant. Now I pay attn. I cleared the old
ones. Pay attention to the new ones.

mariewilder says:

I just had this problem with my ’97 Caddy DeVille. Have the charging system
checked (battery, alternator, starter) checked. Autozone can check these
parts. Or any mechanic shop can check the charging system ($24.99).
Usually, when this code occurs the alternator is going out. I had to
replace my alternator.

Thanks very much needed …just bought a 2003 Seville STS…

YouWrasse IsMine says:

This video was such a great help. It helped me get to the internet to
research the codes. Everyone was so helpful, but yours was the beginning to
my finding. Appreciate you.

Juan Martinez says:

Mine says “battery not charging

Juan Martinez says:

..charging system needs service” alternator??

Ryan Nelson says:

To do that, set the seat in the position that you desire. Press Set on the
door panel and then press the “1” or “2”.

nnjvhvhhgc says:

Never knew anything about that. Thx for posting.

C L Easley says:

How do you change the name or reset the name on your dashboard? I have not
been able to do that. I appreciate your help. Thanks!

jounier1 says:

yes you do not need a sanning tool this also works with 97-99 deville’s and
98-04 Eldorado’s caddy’s were pretty cool because of this 😀

Ryan Nelson says:

To change the name on the dashboard you will need a GM Tech 2 for that.
Some dealerships will do it for you if you ask nicely next time the car is
in for service.

chrissanchez823 says:

I had a system put in my 2002 deville n after my gas dont read or temp also
my transmission life stuff like th at dont wrk any advice

Miranda Richmond says:

I have a cadillac Seville sls and it has gas and battery but won’t turn
over. I can hear the fuel pump so I know that is not the problem. What
could it be? Would a code tell me?

kbc3000 says:

The diagonostic mode can also be entered during driving, even erased. Just
enter the mode by pressing the two bottoms and wait until the dash display
returns, it says “all codes?” then press the info down bottom … the
display says: “clear all codes?” then press the on/off buttom. “All codes
cleared” will be displayed. To return to the desired dash mode press now
the mode buttom for the display left of the steering wheel. This procedur
is very useful for erase the check engine light for ex.

bighefjeff says:

Sweet…so you dont need a scan tool?

C L Easley says:

Thank you so much. I will be sure to ask nicely the next time my car is in
for service. Now it keeps cutting off. My mechanic said it was a crank
sensor. He replaced it today and it still cut off. It starts back up but it
keeps cutting off. Have you had any experience with them cutting off?
