Sloan Regal Flushometer | Diaphragm | Repair and Replace

Sloan Regal Flushometer | Diaphragm | Repair and Replace

In this episode of Repair and Replace, Vance shows how to replace a diaphragm in a Sloan Regal or Royal Manual Flush Valve. This applies to both commercial toilets (water closets) and urinals.

The bypass hole size is extremely important for proper metering of water. Continuous flushing can occur if the bypass hole is blocked. If the hole has been enlarged, it can cause short flushing.

Hi am trying to replace the diaphragm and I have a white relief valve in my toilet (A-15-A). I bought a A-38-A replacement kit and it has a blue relief valve but still has the A-15-A part number. I dropped it in and I'm getting a short flush. I made adjustments to the control valve but am still getting a short flush. I also confirmed my Sloan Royal is 3.5GPF. Any help??

Lee Benson says:

Interesting. The metal fragments inside my diaphragm were all moved around. It seems like it kept a diaphragm from seating property. So I straightened them back out and put it back in and now it flushes fine. This video was a great help.

TheRealDJOsk says:

I just put a whole new kit and the valve won’t shut off. Urinal 1.0GPF
