I wonder if that screw goes into the actual trim piece, because i see how
you basically eye the trim up when you reinstall it, left to right or right
to left with the mallet. If it does screw into the trim then it would seem
to me that you would have to line up the trim with the screw hole exactly.
I’ll have to check that out.
Thanks, do you know if the small fender trim pieces are the same concept,
perhaps without the holding screw though? I think you know the ones I am
talking about, they are basically an extension of the front door piece, but
located on the fender, about 6″ or so long.
Thanks alot man, I appreciate you taking your time out to show this. I’ll
take a rubber mallet to the junk yard and practice on a few. I don’t need
these pieces, but will be repainting the doors one day and I figured the
best paint job would be for me to remove these instead of taping up to the
trim. It’s always nice to use the junkyard cars as the guinea pig first
before you tear into your own. I take it that you didn’t mar the chrome
when you were beating on it.

Thanks for this video. Lost the trim on my 96 Park Ave and been looking for
a how to to help replace it.
It didn’t seem to do any damage to the chrome, just be careful when you hit
the plastic part because if it is brittle it can crack.
Know any online shops that sells seat covers for the driver seat (60-40
setup) or a good way to fix the leather for the 1993 LeSabre?
Them clips can be fun, especially when they are brittle from age….
wheres banana these days 🙂
How much for the airbag? I’ve PM you…
The screw does go into the trim but there is a little wiggle room there so
it doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect to work.
