My 2015 LaCrosse doesn't have Torx 20 bolts. The Torx #20 driver is HUGE, can't be right. It's about 3/8 inch regular hex socket- but I will post again when I actually do the work.

This was a very helpful video. The cabin filter change takes longer than most. No wonder GM had to have a bailout, very poor design on filter access. I changed the engine air filter on my LaCrosse and it took an act of Congress to get access to it and change the filter. My other vehicles were much easier to access both filters.

Dave Ramsey says:

Wow, that's absurd. I can change the cabin filter in my Kia Optima in like 45 seconds! This looks like a terrible design.

TheJlgraham says:

Piss Poor design by GM, most car maker you just drop the glove compartment and you have access. Too many screws to remove and open to breaking parts later.

Buddy Barker says:

You do not have to remove the right panel next to glove box to replace the filter but absolutely have to remove it to get glove box to slide in behind clip on the right side that holds the glove box in on the right when replacing the glove box.

Buddy Barker says:

This is all correct except the side panel on the right side of the glove box has to be removed on a Lacrosse 2014 to get glove box to clip back into place this is not shown anywhere in the video.  When you try replacing glove box without removing side panel on the right side , the clip will bend out and you have a large gap between glove box and the panel that attaches to the right side.  We finally took it to a friend that owns a body shop he just pulled the right side panel off straightened the bent clip, pushed the glove box in and snapped the side panel back on and was done in about 2 minutes.
