Thank you for watching our Buick LaCrosse side view mirror removal & install video. We typically make videos when we have a panel replacement job. As you can see, we are replacing the driver-side fender on this vehicle. We thought some of you may want to know how to replace your exterior car mirror as well. This is a very easy and quick DIY job to tackle. We hope this helps you out and saves you time & money.

TOOLS NEEDED:
You will only need a 10mm wrench or socket wrench. You can also use an impact gun, but don’t be too forceful with the gun. The mirror base is plastic and can break easily.

PROCESS:
We know how bad and dangerous it can be to drive without an outside mirror. It’s our hope that you can save some money doing this job yourself. It’s a very easy and quick job, let’s start!

Every car door will have an interior mirror cover. Sometimes the cover extends behind the door panel but this one does not. We are definitely grateful for that because it will make this job faster. You can pop off the panel with your hands easily enough. If you cannot, you can always use a panel trim removal tool or a flat head screwdriver. The interior panel is part of the window trim. You DO NOT have to remove the entire trim, we only did it so you would get a better view of our video. It’s best to leave it hanging because it will be much easier to install at the end. Once the cover is off you will expose only 2 bolts and the electrical plug. The 3rd bolt is off the right on the corner of the inside door. Now you can remove the mirror with your 10mm socket and unplug the mirror. Push the tab to release the plug but make sure you are holding the mirror so it does not fall and hit your door. Now you can replace your mirror! Before you completely secure everything, make sure the mirror functions work. Turn the car on and check the power mirror, the turn signal, etc. Once you have established the new mirror is just fine, secure it. This is an easy process and you should have no problems here. Snap the interior cover back on and enjoy your new mirror!
