Glad this helped! Think mine needs a new 8 prong plug. But it worked for a
little while. Think one of the wires is pretty toasted inside and not
making a good connection. VT247

I’ve been everywhere trying to fix this evap emissions malfunction code on
my 2002 Buick Rendezvous for the past month. Seeing this simple fix vid
gave me confidence.I did this fix(using a old tooth brush& baking
soda/water mix)my connector was filled with corrosion(mint blue build up
).I dipped my tooth brush in the mix& scrubbed the connector clean,&used a
wet sponge to clean the other end. Then dried it with a hair dryer & Whalaa
no Check engine light! Thx

the plugs on mine need to be redone. for now i spliced my wires together to
get it home (it was in my school parking lot.)

Do have an OBDII scanner. It was a cheap one I got for $40 with free
shipping off eBay. It’s a no name brand but it works good enough. VT247

That area is bad for corrosion. Cleaning it might work for a little while.
But I think the plugs need re wired. VT247

Did your fix work?

MrRedneckjosh says:

i gotta grand am in for the same problem (05 gt 3.4 v6). evap and wrong
fuel gage. it ended up needing the pig tale on both sides replaced because
they melted together for some reason.

The light hasn’t come on…yet. But I just did this fix. Even before, it
took a while before the code would set. We’ll see. It really needs a new
plug. But the plug is @ $40. That and I’m not sure if the one I’m looking
at online is the same one. Hope this fixes it. It was pretty bad. VT247
