Hurricanick says:

My sunroof was leaking, and it opened up. However, I could not close it.
The buttons , unfortunately, stopped working for some reason. Is there a
way to fix this?

rickey dowell says:

One drain on my sunroof was stopped up with a small acorn hull. I cleaned
it out and the problem was eliminated.
Great advice.
Thanks

moe alubaydi says:

car.

such a legend. thanks for the help!!!

Allan Osborne says:

absolutely great video. I was thinking on using duck tape or maybe silicon
to seal the darn thing but cleaning the drain is a better idea. didn’t know
there were any. My leakage has caused other problems in that when it rains
I get shorts and my battery gets drained. again thanks.

Balakrishnan Kavidas Kavidas says:

Thank you for the Video. I have 04 LR DISCOVERY 2. This car have 2 sunroof,
both are leaking.

vstatealum says:

Ok where does the drain tube come out at the bottom? I am having the same
problems but the drain tubes at the top are not plugged but I am still
getting water in the head liner, driver floor board, and the front dome
light.

RichsMethods says:

Thanks for the comment!

RichsMethods says:

You’re welcome. Glad to help out.

RichsMethods says:

I’d try placing the sunroof in the Caprice. It’s a nice car, and it sounds
like you won’t be as happy with a convertible because of the space.

Adel Khan says:

I’m planning to get a moonroof installed on my chevy caprice(2004). Do u
think I should just drop the idea and get a convertible. I love this car
because of the v8 engine and the space for all the passengers, you don’t
get this kind of legroom in any convertible. I don’t know man help me out.

Mike Brinkerhoff says:

PERFECT!! This last week, I discovered a soaked floor and ceiling in my
car… The same problem in my last car was one of the main reasons I got
rid of it, and I REALLY didn’t want to deal with repair bills or getting
rid of another car that I otherwise love. Drains were plugged to the point
that I couldn’t even see they were there, cleaned them out with a q-tip and
the shop-vac, and BAM! Tested with a liter of water, and it all drained
down by the wheels! THANK YOU!!!

Brian Smith says:

good vid this happened to me there good to clean often if you park under
trees etc

Steve Hadlick says:

This seriously was the best explanation of drain cleaning. Short, sweet, to
the point. Thanks for taking the time to make this video.

sandraharasimowicz says:

Thanks for the tip friend.

claudio granelliclaudio granelli says:

I have water coming in from the rubber on the roof to seal the sunroof when
closed but when it rains it still comes in and the roof in side is very wet
I have put silicon round the rubber but it still happens

RichsMethods says:

That could be the case. However, the drains could still be blocked. I’d
remove the driver side molding and inspect the drain for cracks. The
molding will come off with a little pressure. If you don’t see a crack, I’d
suspect the drain is blocked. Check the surface of the drain, if that isn’t
clogged, then I’d be a small plumber’s snake (around $10 at WalMart, Lowes,
etc) to place carefully down the drain to push any debris through.

RichsMethods says:

Or should I say water tight (not air tight). Ha.

Raedene Ackers says:

super helpful vid..much appreciation

isthiswhereitype1 says:

I have cleared the drain holes in the roof and windscreen (under the hood).
Its still leaking! I’m tired of having a damp smelling wet interior. Every
solution forum and video i see and read has suggestions but none of them
work for me! Its making me regret getting this car. Any suggestions? all
drain holes are clear and flow when water is poured down them, door seals
are fine. Water comes through on the passenger side above the sun visor.
Help!!

1864oktobar says:

Thanks man. I will try that but currently the weather sucks to do that, so
I put some tape temporarily across the sunroof.

RichsMethods says:

Oh wow. That sucks.

RichsMethods says:

You’re welcome! Thanks for watching.

masterkyle3 says:

Wow Great tips and video. I really say a little water collecting in the
drain of the sunroof and saw two holes and thought that what it was for.
ill clean mines as soon as i get a chance. (its rainy season now) i wonder
can a cat sleeping on top your sunroof cause it to sink?

RichsMethods says:

@TheFiratunal You are welcomed! Thanks for watching.

RichsMethods says:

Ahmed Abd elsalam says:

I have this problem now with my Lincoln LS. I’m going to use ur knowledge
and see if it work for me. Thanks

Godsknight Daniel says:

I figured this out the hard way, the previous owner didn’t clean the T Top
drains and now the floorboards are rusted gonna cost a grand to fix that.

Bojan Batas says:

I Have a 03 bmw 325i ….. every time it rains my floor mat is wet. but
when i wash the car or just soak the car with water to see where the leak
might be coming from it never leaks. do you think that i have the same
problem ?

Bojan Batas says:

@RichsMethods yeah i checked to locate the drains and i found them, and
they seemed clear.I didnt have time to test them but it seemed really
clear.

RichsMethods says:

Was that an arrested development quote? Ha

RichsMethods says:

Is it sagging because it’s wet? Or it’s just sagging down? If it’s just
sagging down get some spray adhesive (Michael’s, WalMart, pretty much any
where). Try to pry an are of the sagging cloth down so you can fit the
nozzle of the spray adhesive under the fabric. Keep your windows open for
ventilation. Then just spray and push the fabric back up on the roof. Make
sure you don’t over saturate the cloth or it’ll seep through and you’ll see
it when it dries.

eomr1980 says:

hey man i have a 2000 jeep gran cheroke, and is leaking from the sunroof,i

dosent work?thanks for your time and help

Cindy Perrone says:

Thanks for the tip, this has been a headache for me, going to give it a
try.

jgarza010407 says:

I have a 2004 gmc yukon I’m also having the same problem, but it doesn’t
have a sunroof. Driver floor board keeps on getting wet and don’t know were
its coming from. If you could help with any advice I would really
appreciate it, thanks. .

CleanSi1 says:

just a random statement, I have had this same issue on my civic, blew air
through the holes and it worked. I now have a 00 jeep cherokee and my floor
is soaked, just like yours was, i’ll give it a shot again and keep my
fingers crossed. However, if yor holes were as plugged as what they were,
how is water leaking to the floor when they are plugged completly shut?

Cindy Perrone says:

It gets in the ceiling of the car and then comes out at the more tilted
part of the car. Mine is from the front, once on the side when my car was
leaned on a hill.

Michael Nielson says:

Nice explanation, but if the drain was plugged how did the floorboard get
wet. I assumed that if water wasn’t escaping the sunroof area, how did it
end up inside the car on the floor?

RichsMethods says:

Is clicking sound coming from the sunroof’s electric motor? If so it’s most
likely the cable from the sunroof that’s slipping inside the motor.
