Nice car, they really do look best in that color.

Chip Anton says:

i own a 99 park ave ultra only have had to replace normal wear and tear
items since ive owned it they are great cars and so comfortable for long
rides i would say go for the 97

Chip Anton says:

thanks for putting up this video i was having an anti freeze leak and you
helped point out the problem and what to replace. sure enough it was the
lil elbow 5 dollar piece but not so easy to replace on the supercharged

Chip Anton says:

love the supercharged 99 i also own one .it has 136,760 on it and it is the
best car i have ever owned.i had to recently change that little elbow i was
having and anti freeze leak with out this guy putting up this video i would
have never known what to replace

Rasul Wash says:

i have a 1998 buick i was having the same problem i changed the lower and
upper gaskets runs great i have had a lot of car but this is the best car
ive owned i love my car would not sale it

weelgunny says:

Noooo! Had the same problem with an 01 lasabre. It’s common. It originates
near the thottle body base at the bottom of the upper plastic plenum where
the (very hot) EGR tube passes through and warps the gasket, causing
coolant passages to leak. You did point it out, but that WAS the primary
initial cause. Then a good idea to do the lower gaskets as well along with
those plastic tubes. Dorman makes a great replacement plenum kit w/ a
modified (thinner) EGR tube to cure the problem, and pcv valve.

AuroraBoreas says:

I had a 93 Pontiac Bonneville SE with the Series I 3800. It was short of a
quarter million miles before I junked it, only because the body was heavily
rusted and falling apart. The engine still ran like new, and I would still
be driving it now as a winter beater were it not for the road salt
destroying anything. So yea these engines are bulletproof!

Lord Stomper says:

I bought my 2000 Buick Park Avenue, base model, for $1900. Only had to
replace the rear frame rail, ignition wires, spark plugs and muffler. My
dad found this baby at a car auction. I love it. I hit a deer though, and
had to replace a headlight…

timishot55 says:

You’re brilliant though you know what engine is the best!

timishot55 says:

My 92 has 236.000 miles I had the crankshaft issue to other then that
everything else is original

e3expert says:

thank you, Born again man.

MrLamf2939sh says:

i have a monte carlo with the series 3, man i run that thing harder than i
should, im at about 200k and all i have done are the coolant elbows and the
tranny had some work, other than that it runs like a damn top

Sergio Eddie says:

Will you be getting/did you get the rear air suspension fixed? Is that a
common thing on these cars to go out? Is it expensive? I’m thinking of
getting an 01 PA with 162k miles and the suspension seems good, but I don’t
want to get something that;s going to cost a lot of money to fix in the
future. Thanks!

BornAgainMan says:

Thanks jay!

BornAgainMan says:

amen ive only had 3 oil changes and 1 brake job on that car in all this
time, Ive done everything on that car! saved THOUSANDS!

BornAgainMan says:

Yea mama it has to come off. Not to hard tho with an impact driver.

booger man says:

lol, front wheel drive, aussie ones are rearwheel with this motor, crank
only good till 350. sorry dude these didnt cut it when compared to a ford
st.6. for reliabilty. Ask a taxi driver, they got nuts though.

justin sherwood says:

Nice set of wheels man! You got some nice motors over there, Don’t last
that long over here?

Margaret Pfeiffer says:

Fixing ii is way better than trashing it. It may even last longer than if
you took it to a mechanic. Really good advice Brother!1 XO

patricknsheiwat says:

Thank you for the tip; god bless.

chris Jackson says:

Yea this video helped me im getting me a park ave……had 3 cadillacs an
they sucked

mamaknock says:

Thank you so much I think you just solved my problem! Got a ’93 Buick
Century 3300 V6, 144000 miles. Never had a problem until recently. Service
engine comes on & off then after engine warms up good ’bout 10 miles down
the road it does the spit & sudder and goes dead. I did the paper clip
thingy for the code..got a P0022. Camshaft Position Sensor. Did you have to
pull the harmonic balancer off?

BornAgainMan says:

i felt so much better when i replaced that dang thing! ohh the reliability
feels great! im sure i could make it to 350k and beyond. im going to drive
it till it blows.

mamaknock says:

Hmm maybe time to call up my neighbor shade tree George lol. lack of tools
here. I read this seems to be main problem with buicks and shld have been a
recall made. Love my baby..great car otherwise…yours is a nice ride too
and no car pmts! Thanks

BornAgainMan says:

i actually went to a tire shop and they let me use theirs. but i bet if you
can get it up their a mech who do it for 20/30 bucks it literally can be
done in 15 20 minutes if you show him where it is. without a impact my
engine would turn over as i cranked on it with a wrench…

Margaret Pfeiffer says:

I have a 1998 pick up! I used to do my own work too! I know, people ask why
women work on their vehicle’s! I saved money without being ripped off! Had
a blast doing it too. Got a bit older & had to stop. But, when I take my
truck in to be serviced, they don’t take advantage of me! That is a very
nice car Ryan!! God bless my little Brother & his family! XOXOX

Steven Sapyak says:

I just changed a crankshaft position sensor on a 99 Buick Park Ave. & it
was doing the same thing as your car, also I changed out the lower intake
gaskets with the GM aluminum framed type. The old ones were falling apart!
The car is also supercharged, with 207K miles.

BornAgainMan says:

yea its gotta come off but its not that bad, less than 30 minute job with
an impact driver and air compressor. Wheel off, Belt off, one bolt on
harmonic balancer. two (i believe) 10mm bolts on sensor. then slap back
together, and Wham Bamm! Your rolling!

BornAgainMan says:

Really thanks Jay Jay i love it.
