Don't remove axle nut ! Then you have to take apart sway bar link 13mm nut using a deep well socket to push down spindle to remove and replace strut !!!!!!!!!!!!!!and remove 10mm brake line bolt on frame so you can push down spindle !!!!!!!!!!!! and you need a 21mm deep well socket to remove strut bolts and a 3-5lb hammer !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Zachary Smith says:

Is this the same with a 1999 buick century custom. It's my first car and this is the main thing it needs

So Asinine says:

I just had my '04 done and they used the Monroe quick struts. I am noticing the ride height is at least a good inch or more higher than it was and I don't really like the way it looks. The Century is supposed to have somewhat of a forward canted look and now it doesn't. I only needed new mounts and wish I had just went with them instead of letting them talk me into the whole strut assembly! They were an AC Delco shop so I would have thought they would use OEM GM equipment??

I need to do this job (as well as the rear shocks) on my 96 Buick Century. I was dreading replacing the struts, but you've shown this is pretty easy. The only thing that sucks is I don't have a lift, everything is done on the cold hard concrete in my driveway with a floor jack and jack stands.

For shits and giggles, I called up a local auto repair shop and they quoted me something like $1500 for shocks and struts and $73 for an alignment. I may take it to them for an alignment.
