hi, first many thanks for uploading the video.
I am in the process of installing PCV on my 2005 325ci E46. The part
requested has a small nipple on the valve and a tube with it. But my car’s
PCV valve (old one which is to be replaced) doesn’t have this small nipple.
So what should I do? should I blocked/close the nipple on new pcv valve
with something (like a cap or some silicon)?
I also can see in your video that new pcv valve doesn’t have small nipple?
what to do? thanks in advance

this, the DIY is not difficult, just time consuming.

Hello, Just viewing these videos but I am wondering why not remove the
intake manifold? Can you tell me what the symtoms are for the reason this
needs replacement. I have codes e3 e4 fuel trim lean 12 cam signal 08 maf
sensor and misfire codes. could these be a result of this issue? Thank you

just finished this job, it was not impossible, but very frustrating, it is
DEFINETLY Diy, don’t waste your money at the stealership! took 5 hours.

Thanx for this video !

blucaller1 says:

Never mind. Got it. I had it improperly positioned. I can’t thank you
enough for this vid.

blucaller1 says:

I’m having a crazy hard time with that first hose at the beginning of this
vid. When you twist it “down”, are you also twisting it to the point where
its out of shape? You make it look easy. Gonna give it another go right
now. Thanks

BavarianAuto says:

@EthanCommins888 In general, just standard automotive hand tools are
needed: * 1/4″ drive metric socket set with various length extensions and a
universal joint * Standard metric wrench set 8mm to 13mm * Screwdrivers *
Our flexible hose clamp driver is useful (# 53910) * Our Tite Reach wrench,
1/4″ drive (# TR14V1 )

BavarianAuto says:

The oil leakage could be from a cracked oil separator, oil drain hose (from
the separator) or the gasket between the oil filter housing and the engine
block.

Hi I need a valve gasket replaced on my 01 325c1 bmw has 149k miles o my
husband is deeating on if he should do the work or hire a mechanic? Any
thoughts please

Mess Bartek says:

I’ll leave the insulation on, as temperatures in Poland can go quite
something belowe 0*:) Thanks for confirmation.

BWGgy says:

I didnt replace the throttle body gasket though, hope that’s not too bad.

teamfalconsports says:

i’m stuck, i can’t connect the outlet hose that connects to the nipple on
the oil separator…… You show that the hose can twist up allowing it to
connect to the nipple. The part I received from allows the connector to
swivel so I have to use my hand in the small cramped space to try to twist
it on…..i’m having a hard time doing that.

Beatrice Flippen says:

Very helpful. I am going to attempt this in a few weeks…. Thank you so
much for taking the time to do these vidoes!!!

639Ripcord says:

Hi, I took the old vacuum hose off the old valve and placed it on the new
one. You are spot on ! i have been chasing a air leak from somewhere! could
not find it for ages, i have now found it and the noise has gone away so
all is well and the car goes like a rocket now, ( leak was on the uppermost
boot, where the return breather hose is located , had to pull it back to
see the very small crack!) in case others have the same issue! thanks for
the reply ! until the next issue with the car.

henri4929 says:

@BavarianAuto my breather pipe has a leak and i took it to a bmw shop and
he said i need to replace all of the horses like the ones you are showing
in the vide. so do i really new to replace all of them or just the leaking
one thanks

BavarianAuto says:

Well, you either have the common M54 oil usage issues (the M54 engines tend
not be oil eaters), or the check valve diaphragm in the CCV is ruptured and
you are sucking more crankcase vent air past the check valve …. and the
extra oil that comes with it.

R Riaz says:

Excellent Video. Thank you guys for being so kind to put these videos.
Although I have not gone this far on working on my M52TU B28 engine, but
now I will not have any problem doing it if I had to. Question is what are
the symptoms that tells you have to undertake this job?

Matt Correia says:

Great DIY! I just finished changing the CCV following your steps. When I
went to start it up after the job I got code P0444 (Evaporative Emission
Control System Purge Control Valve Circuit Open). I didn’t have any codes
when I embarked on this. Any thoughts?

BavarianAuto says:

Well, unfortunately, no. We do not have the N46 engine in the US.

danplum says:

This is a very useful video. Thanks so much for making it and posting it.
As bilboraptor commented, I would probably not attempted this repair
without this video. My car had 174K miles at the time I did this. I am in
the process of eliminating oil leaks, and it seemed to make sense to do
this, though I didn’t have any symptoms or pluggage.
