Possibly The Best Upgrade For Your BMW!

Possibly The Best Upgrade For Your BMW!

In this video I show you how to upgrade to a larger aftermarket oil cooler for your BMW. I install this on my 2008 BMW 335i E90 with the N54 engine.

The cooler is made by a company called G-Plus.

If you are interested in purchasing the cooler you can do so here (affiliate):

http://ebay.us/O6BbPS

You can purchase the OEM O-rings here (affiliate):

This kit should fit all E9X models including the E92.

This kit is designed for cars that came from the factory with an OEM oil cooler. This significantly increases the capacity to aid with cooling when on track or when pushing your car hard.

In this video I cover the installation and show you what needs to be modified.

If this is the first video you are catching of mine please consider subscribing. I upload regularly.

Thanks for watching 🙂

Dumb questions:

Is oil running through the cooler or just coolant?

My BMW doesn't have an oil cooler (n63tu3) so can I still use the adapter plate someplace on the filter housing? I don't believe there's a thread on filter in these motors. I don't know where or if there's an oil cooler valve either.

@Notbusterbutcuster says:

How much extra oil did you have to put ?

@damon123jones says:

oil cooler = spun rod bearings ?

Did you have an issue with tire pressure monitoring after relocation?

@robertkowalski8146 says:

I have a lock from the oil thermostat and bracket what was added to the kit. I even bought another oil fitting bracket from mishimoto and the same problem.

Good afternoon friend. I would like to know if it is possible to just change the hoses/oil lines (for better ones) and keep the original oil cooler and oil cooler thermostat housing with thermostat. It's because I live in Brazil and here we don't have many professionals capable of adapting parts not oem. I have a bmw 335, 2008, N54, and I have leaks at both ends of the original oil lines, a leak in the oil cooler connection and another in the oil cooler thermostat housing with thermostat. So I thought about changing just the hoses/oil lines, however the originals are very expensive and I thought if I could replace them with non-original ones, but with good quality and even better heat dissipation. However, the oil lines/hoses used in your video have different connections in the oil cooler, reason why I would like to ask if you know oil lines with the same connection of the original/oem oil cooler. If so, could you please help me and recommend the store that I can order them? I have friends living in US that can buy the oil lines/hoses for me and send to Brasil in case the store does not ship to Brazil. I really appreciate your help. Tks

Any update on how this held up over time, no leaks or other issues?
Thanks

@edwardwerley8831 says:

Did you have any issues with leaks at the oil housing and adapter? I’m using factory o-rings and the fit does not feel sealed once I put the lines on. Following up to ping question again. 10/11/22

@jasonpadilla9336 says:

Is there a orientation that the lines go in

@Credman1883 says:

How did that oil cooler hold up over time?

@obihornchen6508 says:

Am I overlooking sth, or did you forget the most crucial part of swapping out an oil cooler?
You absolutety NEED to prefill it, otherwise the oil pump will just pull air from the cooler when the oil thermostat opens for the first time!
