Have you experienced a dropped Bluetooth connection? Occasionally, Bluetooth connection drops due to software updates or other changes made to your iPhone settings. This can result in your iPhone disconnecting from your BMW model but, thankfully, it’s easy to restore.

First, be sure that all Bluetooth features are currently active on both your iPhone & BMW. By accessing the “”mobile devices”” menu in the iDrive display, you’re able to confirm the iPhone is connected.

If the iPhone isn’t appearing on the menu, you can connect the device accordingly.

If it is appearing, check the settings within the iDrive menu to see if all options are checked. Upon confirmation, try connecting your iPhone again. If this doesn’t work, you may have to delete the device and reconnect the iPhone. Next, go to your iPhone’s settings & into the “”Bluetooth”” section so that you can delete your BMW pairing. We recommended restarting your iPhone before pairing the devices again. Once reinstated, go back to the iDrive menu & click “”connect new device.”” Follow the prompts on the iPhone & BMW to test again.

Ihave had this issue with my 2018 since 2018 will be my last BMW

John Avila says:

I'm on my 2nd BMW and the last – I have continually had connection issues with my phone and/or iPod. It is constantly disconnecting and i'm having to do the re connection thing over and over again. You'd think BMW would get a clue but i'm done with them.. Get your S**T together before you keep losing customers

Engineering Solutions says:

I paid hand over fist for my BMW and have experienced so many technical issues. My spouse got a cheapo Honda Civic and has such a great smart vehicle interface. BMW…time to take this car to the back of the barn.

Stan Bezhan says:

Lol this video is an absolute joke and slap in the face of every BMW customer. The cars bluetooth is absolute garbage. Everything about the car is beautiful except how it plays bluetooth. Bought myself a newer 2017 540i only to run into constant bluetooth troubles like it disconnecting from my phone for no reason at all. Total software issue, its sad that a company with a reputation for making comfortable luxury cars cant even get the bluetooth part right. I mean its gotta be one of the easier parts of a car, its not a fucking engine. Scumbags.

Henrik Myrhaug says:

I can't get it to work. My phone says it's streaming music to the car, but the car isn't recieving and playing the audio. The volume is not turned down/ off, the bluetooth audio just doesn't work. I have tried disconnecting/ deleting my phone from the car and the car from my phone and reconnecting, but it just won't work.

I guess I'll just use USB audio, that way I won't get too frustrated.

Allan mcc says:

Hey guys. Thanks for trying, but bmw Bluetooth is pretty much rubbish. My old Mitsubishi has better Bluetooth connection and reliability….. you would think bmw would be better….
