Would this also be the same for the 2011 Bmw 328i xdrive of changing the
Bulbs?

Great video

Pieter Griessel says:

You made it easy for me! Thanks. Saved me a fortune!

MrkriaNk says:

Bulbs don’t match. It is recommended to always change both bulbs. When one
goes, the other will go soon after! 🙂

Rico says:

easy simple instructions! I would usually take off the bumper, and pull out
the whole headlight.

Alex Murphy says:

This is the correct bulb: BMW part# 63 21 7 217 509

Alex Murphy says:

The bulbs don’t seem to match man!

Your car is BI Xenón? Do you think the new product of the link you put will
fit to the bi Xenon? The link you put on the descripción is diferent number
of yours

CPAR15 says:

sooo whats the point of the circular bulb?

Porschedoctor1 says:

This video is only for the low beam. I have a E90 2006 330xi with the
adaptive hi/low xenon bulb. The lamp housing cover is twice the size as the
one in the video and has FOUR clips (2 on top and 2 on bottom). There is no
way to remove it from the wheelwell, (esp the left side) without jacking
the car and removing the wheel and front splash guard. See
‘trickykegstands’ and e90Headlight replacement for the pictures. The rest
is easy.

James Yuan says:

You are welcome! 1 hour is not bad. Glad you get it done by yourself.

Yaohoo88 says:

Having difficulty unclipping the 2nd cover. Are there 2 of clips (one
accessible from opening the car hood?) It’s so rigid and I don’t have
enough space to assert force. Is there any tool that would make this more
easier? Do I have to use dryer in hot mode to soften the plastic hinge a
bit?

Brandon Bivens says:

Question. Is the new bulb you replaced more yellow then the other? It looks
like the new one is a different color…

Jim Wang says:

I tried it and had some touble time to open the clap and the spring clip.
Finally I managed to get it done in about 1 hour. It saved me at least $500
!!!! Thanks!

jieff1975 says:

thank you so much for all the money not given to the dealer… but spent in
some beers !

James Yuan says:

Thanks for sharing your findings.

didiee says:

I have similar question. how many clips are there? they’re so stiff any
tricks to unclip them?

Yaohoo88 says:

2nd try, with hair dryer on high heat, it seems to soften the clip a bit
but still too hard. I did not remove air filter box. Torx screw. Going to
check price on Indy…

Al Leg says:

Question! Since I do not have a quarTer coin… Can I do it with a dime? 🙂

James Yuan says:

At very first few days it did look a bit yellowish. But after that I almost
could not tell the difference.

Van Ellerbe says:

Both my headlights went out one day apart, I replaced lights but only right
side will work . What else can it be.

Eddie Lee says:

I just changed them. I found it easier to take off the cover if you remove
the air filter box first. Use a screwdriver to unclip the two top ones
first and the cover will come off. I found the spring clips more difficult
to put back in because I couldn’t catch the holder when I went in to the
right. Thanks alot it helped me do the job easier.

James Yuan says:

Hi Peter, The new bulb I bought from amazon was for the replacement. It’s
exactly the same (made, model etc) as the original one. The web link is in
the video description. You need to click “show more” to see it. Let me know
if you have more questions. Happy DIY.

Ekin Nguyen says:

Thanks for the video!. I was looking forward to change my gfriend’s car
this weekend but the dealer asking $550 to replace a pair of low beam. BTW
is the right and left bulb same?

James Yuan says:

Please refer to mr1004’s comment, 1 week ago (to see if it helps): I just

filter box first. Use a screwdriver to unclip the two top ones first and
the cover will come off. I found the spring clips more difficult to put

Thanks your video was a big help in changing mine. I have the 2 door
version of this car and it did not have the trap door. I had to remove the
fender liner to get to the bulb. I was a pain in the ass but I got it done.

Hosea Bickerstaff says:

Good Vid. If you Open the Hood you can give yourself an extra hand. Also
The clip for the box that contains the bulb moves “Outward!” Your
explanation in the vid says to the left. Took me 5 minutes to figure out my
Passenger side clip needed to be moved to the right! Everything else in the
vid was spot on. Thanks!

oniy986 says:

tnx for the vid. Replaced a bulb in 5 min 🙂 I used a screwd river to
unclip the cover from the top side – through the bonet.

cstrikeplaya says:

your the best, thanks mann!!

James Yuan says:

Thanks for sharing! that’s really quick 🙂

Peter Liu says:

Hi James, great video. I hope to try this in the next couple of days. One
question, is the bulb you show in the video the original part from the car?
Or is it a replacement? I’m trying to figure out which bulb to order!

James Yuan says:

Please refer to mr1004’s comment, 1 week ago

James Yuan says:

Yes, Ekin. I think so.

Peter Liu says:

Hi James, I tried doing the “operation” today, but I get stuck on removing
the second cover, where you said it took you a long time. I couldn’t figure
out how to remove the thing and it’s not clear from the video. Do you have
any tips on removing it? Thanks!

Ottesen23 says:

Hi. Thank you man, just did this on my “new” car and your video helped A
LOT 🙂

James Yuan says:

Hi Peter, Yes, it took me about 20mins to open the second cover. At the
beginning, I could barely move the cover after un-clipping the clip on top.
Then I kept wiggling it for quite some time. Finally I had to use quite a
lot force to flip the cover. I guess there could be another clip at the
bottom of the cover, but I could not reach it or see it. So just be careful
when using force. Good luck, James
