Thank you for video. Now I know..:)

Autobahn Eugene says:

I assume nuts and bolts cost more than a rivet. I agree they should have
used nuts and bolts to assemble this.

Autobahn Eugene says:

Guess nuts and bolts cost more and rivets are cheaper. I think they should
have assembled it with nuts and bolts. Any more, reusable clamps are
beginning to fade away in cars too and substituted by spring clamps.

strumpeteer says:

Kind of lame why BMW would use rivets to attach what supposed to be a
serviceable part.

@woah4 rockauto.com has the motor for $42 usd and the regulator for $47
usd.

Autobahn Eugene says:

Thanks for adding tech tips to this project. Any suggestions to get them
rivets out fast is a welcome suggestion.

Autobahn Eugene says:

Yes you may, make sure to use the right length bolts though. Shortest bolts
is what we recommend.

the whole process….

rockauto.com has the motor for $42 usd and the regulator for $47 usd. I
need to chainge mine out too, it functions normaly but when It rolls all
the way to the top it starts clicking like a machine gun. I have a
convertable so it functions differently as well every time I open the door
the windows drop half an inch an after I shut it they roll back up an it
makes several clicks after it has closed the window after shutting the
door, very anoying an their is a slight whistle of air comming in

OpticPhiber says:

And I have same problem with driver side too 🙂 . Thanks for video .

Autobahn Eugene says:

Sorry, I am a beginner in video taping and admit I did not do a good job.
But I am getting better.

Autobahn Eugene says:

Good luck to you. It really is not that hard. You can try adjusting the
stop to get rid of the whistling sound.

Billy Cadeau says:

I have the same problem with the window coming off the track in my car. How
much Is a regulator typically? I have a 328 I as well, mines a 97

sikito1031 says:

Next time use a pry between the regulator and rhe door and gently apply
presure while you drill. The rivit will be removed instantly. Works like a
charm everytime.

johninloveindaytona lee says:
