Nice job. Just goes to show.. If you have the patience and elbow grease
you can achieve a lot of things yourself. I hear you like Tom Stade too (
3:47.. Funny guy).

Bajamanator says:

Seriously good results… You’ve both inspired me and given me some
confidence to do the same to my alloys xD thanks dude!!!

AzeOfSpadez says:

You didn’t remove the old paint though, painted right over the clear
coat…Just some strong paint stripper and a good pressure washer would
remove all of that, no sanding necessary. Unless it was scratched.

Sheppy99 says:

wow, I’ve watched many auto body videos and I think yours explained how to
blend paint the easiest and most simplest way. Thanks!

Btw thanks for showing all the grits you used for the sand paper.

Nubie Bob says:

Enjoyed watching ya vids I was kinda shittin me self to do mine but it
don’t seem too bad. I’m even doing a plastic tent in my shed so it lowers
the chance of dust.:-)… Just one question would I need to put a heater in
there with it getting a bit cold? Thanks

BillsAllotmentDiary says:

Cheers for the video I just picked up a car with all alloys kerbed worse
than yours and deep. This gave me the gollies to attack mine. I currently
have two wheels rubbed down ready to paint.

Cheers

Leonardo Paillalef says:

Thanks for sharing the video with us, I have a BMW 330 with the same wheels
and scratches. You’ve inspired to do so! You did a great job on them.
Greetings!

bubbalexi says:

Great job, I’ve got some really scuffed alloys on my Audi too. maybe I can
save some bucks by doing this! thanks for going into great detail to show
your process.

1kevintjuh says:

That’s that i call NICE WORK MAN ! :D

namski2410 says:

Hi Jaypo,

What did you use for the final coating? Heard you say clear coat and gloss
seperately. Are they the same or different things? This clear coat/gloss,
is it the same as a clear lacquer? Which particular make did you use in the
video.

Thanks

Namski

Emre Elmas says:

Any problems with a pressure washer ? 1 year later, does it still holds
well ?

Antonio Eduardo de Campos says:

very nice work… i will do the same.

erickrayos says:

what filler did you use? or I guess its better what Kind of filler since
you sound like your in UK somewhere and we in the US probably won’t have
the brand of filler you used. I got the same exact wheels on the 325i that
I bought and it has curb rash on 3 out of the 4 wheels. you can probably do
this even when its on the car but its easier to do it removed.

Nydsabel Grillasca says:

Great video mate! What color do you use?

Nathan Lowe says:

Got the exact same wheels on my car! using the same halfords paints also.
video has really helped :)

Sumir Uddin says:

Great job am gna follow step by step and do my alloy on my mk5 golf

darren beckett says:

Hi how did you get the right colour for the wheels?

Dan All says:

Great how-to. I’m going to be doing some wheels soon. How many can of high
build primer, top coat and clear did you use?

V6TRO says:

Top vid, definitely going to have a crack at refurbing the alloys on my
FTO. Didn’t realise it was something a non pro could do!!

Fishing MadDAd says:

Good job mate
How many tins of spray paint would I need to repaint 4 wheels?
Cheers

Len Bir says:

Thanks bro. I have 2006 e60 I hope the rims are of the same alloy material
like yours. I would love to spend a day doing This ..

Johnny B says:

What is the paint called exactly that you used?BMW Genuine Titanium Silver
Metallic Touch-up Paint Code 354? If you have a link where i could purchase
it would be helpful.

Jordan Louzado says:

Thanks for the video very well explained!
How long does it take to do one wheel roughly, and do you have to do the
back of the alloy?

MrOldeastdallas says:

I really wanna paint my rims but I’m scared to mess them up. The have some
curb scratches and dust brake that won’t come off. I used a rim cleaner
hoping it would remove the dust brake that has being sitting in the rims
since before I bought the car and all it did stained the rims. I would so
pay you to bring my rims back to life if you were to live close to me.
After you were done with yours they look great.

hector meza-gonzalez says:

mate this is sick!

big stuey uk says:

nice work

Reid Shankl says:

Roughly how long did it take to finish one wheel?

jl says:

Great video! Thanks

Shabec2982 says:

Good job

Greg House says:

… till the next pavement kerb ;-)

Jeffrey Lee says:

How many cans of paint did you use for four of your wheels?. Great Vid!
Plan to repair my four rashed rims

sandydogy says:

what a lovely job, when I did mine for my Polo it was not a smooth finish
and when I tried wetsanding it looked crap, did you let the tyre down to do
this? I was scared to do that on mine incase it did not reseal! great video

yojani martinez says:

What grit did you use in the other video and this one

Dave Bathie says:

Great video,my 2005 MiniS needs all four wheels done, could use your help
MATE.

groovANDsooth says:

Done one of my Clio 182 alloys it was totally fooked ! after watching this
video over and over i got the idea and it turned out very good just one
tiny bit i missed 😉 thanks jaypo ;)

g7 says:

Thank you. I just bought almost identical rims for my Volvo s60. They too
are 2nd hand. You did such a good job on yours, that I think I’ll try it
on mine

kNIGHTrider ryder says:

well motivated after seeing this guide great video and now will attempt my
montreal bbs wheels … best refub video i come across so far :)

Simon Harrison says:

ive done a quick refurb before, just on a couple of spokes, used different
materials and took a longer mask up than time spent on attention to detail-
to be honest it hid the massive gash well for a first go, but its clearly
visible where it was. moral of the story and to re-itterate most of your
feedback- your video has given me the confidence to do the new scuffs (mrs
drives the car see) and do them to your standard. i doubt, in fact i know i
wont end up with your results cause yours did look new as fook but i think
whatever happens, its gonna look better than nasty scuffs so its worth
taking the plunge
great video, really well detailed, covered virtually everything you will
come accross so again, good work

4adblog says:

How come you only primer part of the rims, is it only need for the part
that was repair with filler?

Peter Multika says:

Hey jaypo. just accomplished the primer now, i’l get on with the wet sand
and color paint tomorrow 🙂 again, helpful video 😉 cheers Peter from
Norway.

Zed Tee says:

Good job! They look mint. Saved yourself a fair few £££’s too :)

Nicholas Vicari says:

nice work, they look great, especially considering this was your first go!

maxpower1870 says:

Good job, thanks for sharing 🙂

Slender Hunter Alex says:

Nice video but dust mask and paint mask are crucial. Materials you are
using are toxic. Latex gloves to protect the hands during the prep process
is a good idea too. Using a degreaser to eliminate “fish eyes” in the base
coat and the clear coat is an important step. This project is very labor
intensive. Use ventilation when sanding filler and spraying all color/base
coats.Water sanding is an option and works very well. Scotch-brite pads and
a warm bucket of water can make scuffing/sanding much easier!
