Easily fix your leaking thermostat on your BMW! – DIY for almost all F series cars!

The gasket on the back of the oil thermostat for the BMW N55 and S55 engines will eventually leak, but it’s a very easy fix. With a few simple tools there is no reason you can’t do this work yourself and save 1-2 hours of expensive shop time.

Required parts and tools:
Thermostat gasket part number – 11428637820
O ring part number (x2) – 17228604345
10mm, 13mm sockets and wrench
E8 reverse torx socket (if S55)
E12 reverse torx socket (if OEM thermostat)
torque wrench capable of 16nm
5mm allen wrench
