I can’t figure out how to open the throttle body to clean it. I have a 2002
325i, anyone know how I can get it to open??? I don’t see any levers and
any switches??

LiNingAir says:

The vid would’ve been actually extremely helpful if you only made it during
the day outside where there’d be sufficient light so ppl can see what
you’re doing…

inline6_ bm says:

lighting is poor

Derrick Weber says:

How did you know it was cracked? Smoke test? I have a 2003 325i with codes
for too lean both banks and cylinder 6 misfire. Car is dying after exiting
the highway. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Karinaa Rodriguez says:

Have you ever experienced the EML and Traction control lights come on
simultaneously along with the car going into limp mode?? I have a 2000 323i
that’s been giving me hell for the last two months and I cannot figure out
wth is wrong with it… the throttle body has been replaced (brand new) and
it is still giving me the same issue, will not come out of limp mode. Any
info would be helpful if you, yourself have experienced this or anyone . I
am desperate! !

Thanks in advance, Karinaa!

Noe Diaz says:

Darren Moura-Smith says:

Juan Jimenez says:

I have a 2000 bmw 323i when driving the dsc lignt comes on dsc is the
triangle can some one help me on fixing it

Wenwei Hu says:

Thanks for the post, I found my lower Intake boot leaking.
And replaced both boots.

The lower Intake boot clamp was in a awful position, I had to cut the old
boot off, then to assess the clamp screw to loose it. When put back a new
one, it is much easy, you can put those clamps in a sound position you
can easily fasten them.

SpencerSlavin says:

Thanks for the video. It’d be cool if you ranked the difficulty of each
job. Ie. this is a ….5 / 10 intermediate difficulty. That way it might
help people who are not too comfortable know which jobs they can try
themselves and which to go to the dealer with.

Tia Bella says:

Will my boobs get in the way if I attempt this?

Kevin Robinson says:

can i pay you to fix my 2003 325i

lightdark101 says:

to check for wet spots, holes, tears, and make use everything is attached
and not lose. One way to locate the sound is re attached the intake making
sure you still have the MAF still attached so you don’t throw check engines
lights and look around and locate the source of the sound under intake
manifold. Do so in a safe manor since the car is running and moving parts
can cause harm. You may have to turn on and off the car spot the noise..
check where you think it is coming from, block it with

Michael Arevalo says:

hey man…i got the MAF and put new park plugs…it still shows me the
p1189/88 codesand now im getting a miss fire in Cylinder 3… maybe a coil
or a spark plug gone bad…and now im thingking if i have to get them
oxegen sensors..ughhh

noreply30510 says:

Nice vid, thanks! You kind of glossed over the throttle cable though. I’m
having an issue where my throttle cable just popped off and when i put it
back, there’s no tension to keep it in place. Any ideas on what might be
causing this. Nice to see a young person wrenching his own car. keep it up.

Jetubeb says:

This might be a silly question, but how you open the tThrottle Body? is the
any switch to press to clean in the inside?

lightdark101 says:

I would say intake, the lines leading or the CCV itslef, DISA valve (box on
the intake manifold). It’s obvious that there’s a whole and it’s sucking
air in. So i would check all those listed and near by vacuum lines and the
intake manifold to rule common things out. According to the video it looks
like it’s coming from under the intake manifold where the CCV is. Check the
intake boot’s first by removing and slightly bend them to expose tiny
cracks and then start looking around

gneesh14 says:

hey, i just bought the exact same obd2 reader for my 2004 325ci which i
just bought. is there a way to read the pending codes? i had the p0444 show
up and some other icons were flashing on top which i assume are pending
codes, but it wouldnt let me read them. any help is much appreciated!

koltheman52 says:

lot of stuff to say haha. First off all four of your diys are great. I used
number 1 and 2 to help with my ses light. Secondly, there was ALOT of thats
what she said moments in that video. (its uh… well.. ribbed. lol) Lastly
i see that you have a intake hose or tube whichever. My car does not have
one of those leading to the intake box. Where can i get one? Preciate the
help

lightdark101 says:

Sorry for the late reply. I’m using a Inova OBDII reader… Exact spec of
model… i don’t have any the moment since i’m currently lend it to a
friend.

tony30202 says:

@lightdark101 so it ended up being the secondary air pump? Did you replace
the air pump and the valve for it

lightdark101 says:

@tony30202 the P1189 and 88 lead to a Secondary Air Pump code

Andrew Cairns says:

JakeJNyc says:
