How far were you able to yank that wire box back
How far were you able to yank that wire box back
Yo dude you are excellent I am doing this project this weekend We got it all apart tonight and tomorrow we will start putting back together since we were pounding beers. with you being in canada eh how come eh you are not drinking Molson XXX The beer of all North Carolina DIY mechanics eh Will report back when we finish “BEER” EH
interesting comment, I tried using some grease but that didn’t work out so well
Great vid! (but it’s german beer for deutsch cars).
Also not sure how relevant this is to the ‘fitting things on, down in the hole’ but here goes:
IF you have a hose to fit upon a tube, and it is going to be a VERY tight fit, lubricate the inside of the hose with ethanol (the HOSE) If over 70F, then I lubricate with Windex Original (no substitutes). This works particularly well with tygon, tygon-like plastics. (How do you know it was tygon? It shrinks some over the years, and gets brittle).
Best DIY ever. Lets drink some fuckin beer.
I’ve done around 15 of Them and it takes me one hour to do them, but first time when i done it, i was goin nuts.
i know that’s why i said in the video that it’s a major pain in the ass to get those hoses to connect, but great job on completing the task
Man I just finished putting in the hoses for the CCV. This was a MAJOR pain in the ass. I hope I never have to do it again.
I took of my intake manifold and it took 2 hours to replace 🙂
i know what you mean, i wanted to ghost ride the car off a cliff while it was on fire doing this job
Oh yeah… that one hose is a bitch! The whole rest of the job is pretty easy. But that one hose from the manifold…. I wanted to light the car on fire.
don’t fuck around replace those hoses as they will be brittle, last thing you want to do is be balls deep in a project almost out of beer and you bust a hose and don’t have a replacement
Thanks for the DIY. I’ll probably be doing this in the following weeks.
Do you think I should order replacement hoses or are they durable? Just don’t want to get down there and see cracked hoses and have to buy them from the dealership.
the ideal behind it will help but since the motor is different the steps would be different on how you do it
Hi, first of all the video is great! Thnx for that.
However i have the M52 (323Ci manual) engine and i’m wondering if this DIY is usable for me as well?
Tank you for letting me know.
Peace
Nice good job, glad you got it done without any issues
Well let me see – I had 1 before disassembly, 1 while I cleaned up the DISA, dipstick tube, and throttle body, 2 while trying to route all those fucking tubes right, 1 after I finally felt that hidden bastard snap home, and 1 when I finished. It’s a 6 beer job for sure.
great job, yeah those hoses were a cock sucker to get on. how many beers did you down doing the job
Great video. I watched it, then knocked out the job on my car. I had the cold climate version, which made that one 90°-90° tube an even bigger cocksucker. I laughed when I saw you cussing after connecting it, but I took at least an hour trying to make it seat right with my big friggin hands. So now I know. Thanks for the great vid man. If I see you, I’ll buy you a sixer.
Awesome job man! =)
yes it is
Great video, Is that the m54 motor?
thanks good luck in doing the job, if your having issues with getting the hoses on properly you can go 1 extra step and remove the alternator then that opens up lots of room
Hey mate, i would just like to say that i think you did a great job, making this video. your explainations about the components was easy to understand, and you covered the entire process like a pro, so thanks alot we appritiate it.
glad to hear that you got everything sorted out
Hey man! seemed to resolve the problem. Tore it all apart again. Redid the throttle body plug, checked connections to the CCV and cleaned the ICV more then cleared all my codes before i started it. Running strong now! thanks for the help!
