tip from someone who just did their entire power steering – the reservoir has a built in filter, if your fluid is black and smells burnt, itd be best to flush it out and replace the reservoir. takes only 1L (non active steering) and is very easy. Replacing the two hoses connected to the reservoir is also a smart idea
