BMW N54 Index 12 Injector Upgrade. DIY Plus Coding

BMW N54 Index 12 Injector Upgrade. DIY Plus Coding

In this video I show you how to change your fuel injectors on your N54 powered BMW. This is my second DIY on this subject, I go more in depth in this DIY and explain why index 12 injectors are the way to go. This is especially true if your N54 is tuned.

I wanted to make this video to clear up any confusion from my original video and also follow the manufacturers recommendations with regards to how to properly perform this procedure.

We are using the INPA software suite to code the injectors.

Dr. Jay says:

If I'd buy 6 new index 12's, would I be able to use them on my N53 or do I need to go for the N53 specific Index 11 injectors? They at least physically look exactly the same and have the quantity compensation numbers within range of the N53 ones

I upgraded my coils and plugs on my 07 335i , I have index 10 injectors , car is almost fbo, just missing the fmic. Running MHD stage 2. The new plugs I installed are one step colder. After installing I had multiple misfires. I swapped coils around swapped plugs around and did that for about 3 days. Finally I got frustrated and put the old plugs back in. Car runs fine now. Is there a setting in MHD or something I'm missing? I thought it was recommended to use one step colder plugs on a tuned N54?

I mixed Index 12's with Index 1's and I had nothing but problems. It's hard to say if it was actually the mixing of the Indexes, but when I finally switched to all Index 12's I had no more problems.

Joyroc says:

Cheapest injectors I can find on line are about 1300 for a set. I'll be shocked if I call the bmw dealer tomorrow and they are under 1k.
