Today we’re replacing the heater control valve on my E60 550i! This part commonly fails and leads to hot air forced on one side of the car or both, even when you set the a/c to blow cold. This is a simple fix however, and I show you how to change it on my BMW!

I heard the rubber washers dry out and crack?? My new one came with new ones, You didn't mention them what do I do???
Can someone explain, I know it has one inlet but why does the heater valve have two pipe outlets , is it like a left and right output to heater matrix .Thanks
I bought an Amazon heater control valve for my 2010 e70 x5 but it didn’t fix the problem. Bought an OEM from FCP and that fixed the problem.
DO THIS FIRST. Set your heater to ON, remove the coolant hoses from the control valve and stick a (water) hose on the end of the bottom one. It will help if you have some sort of nozzle that can force some water pressure through the hose. Put the water hose up against the coolant hose and jet as much water through it as you can. Almost certainly with time a blob of antifreeze-colored gelatinous goo will come out one of the other lines. When you use AC, coolant trapped in the core cooks to a sludge from summer / engine compartment heat and this is what impedes proper operation. The control valve is a solenoid. They work on basic physics. If you run a current through a coil you will get a magnetic field. Polarity doesn't even matter. Nothing known to nature has ever violated this law. So I'd actually dare to say that not a single control valve has ever actually failed. The one on my 1998 e36 is still original. But I've blasted numerous chunks of goo out of heater cores over the 25+ years I've owned BMWs. This is almost always the problem.
Is it safe to drive with a leaky valve? Or should I park it til the part comes in? It’s a small drip
Did you ever solve the issue completely?i.e driver vents?
Isti problem na e87 jedna strana grejala druga hladila i samo kad vozim greje kad stanem nece da greje zamenio ovu pumpu radi super
Hvala puno❤
Hi great video. I habe the opposite problem i can't any heat into the cabin. One of the hoses going to that valve is hot and the other cold. This look like a valve problem. No heat at all.
Dear Dude Bro, why did you jack the vehicle off the ground and then proceed to work exclusively under the hood?
Thanks my boy same problem happing to my 08 550i
Is that valve still working for you? I replaced mine with one from rockauto and it has stopped working recently. I’m thinking that I may just buy one from amazon this time.
