This is the full install of the new 2nd generation (or G2) of the AvinUSA Android 10.25 touch screen display. While I will also show swapping out the original G1 of the display, the video will also work just as well if you are changing from the OEM display.
I am really impressed with this product from Avin and the 2nd gen is even better than before. The UI is smooth and responsive, sound is crisp and clean, and the install is very simple with only one tool needed.
All in all this is a very easy installation, and absolutely worth the upgrade in your car, going from the mediocre 6.5 OEM display, or even the larger 8.8. The original iDrive screens all look better and in sharper display, and then you add all of the android functionality on the other side as well.
The amount of customization is really large as you can change your navigation, run different android apps, use Apple Carplay, or Android Auto.

Hey man i have problem that, when I try to go to original bmw menu i see on left side no signal and on right side blue lines and it says 8L (litres maybe)
I have 2016 F31 NBT100% with this 10.25” inch display… i had before a small display with NO Navigation
And i has no optical cable

Issues with System =
I have several issues with this system I purchased for my 2015 BMW 428i.
The install was relatively easy with minors of routing the cables.
I do have some functional issues with the unit. Here they are–
1- The Avin Support has not been very good at all and I have sent several emails and have tried to call numerous time. it always goes to Voice and I have never received a call back.
2- I have a MAJOR isssue when receiving calls where I cannot hear the caller. This is not a consistant problem and happens about 80% of the time. I can place a call with no issue at all. I have restated unit, paired the the phone, I have tried 4-Different phones 2 Android and 2 Iphones and makes no difference.

4- Navigation- is not clear how to use the software or what software to use. I did load the software I purchased and received and at this point this is useless. I have tried several versions. Loading the NAV is another issues. Once the NAV does load there is a constant No Signal found. I even have the the GPS antenna sitting on TOP of the dash so I know interference is not and issue and where unit is mounted. The GPS cable is not loose and has been checked a number of times.
5- Another question I have asked a number of time is Can the unit send notification or view test message. I do not know if this is supposed to be built in or if I need to install an APP.

6- Is there an firmware update for Android? No response
7- It also seems the developer of the product is not supporting the unit properly. On several locations the units of measure are in Litres. I have asked for this and this I did reply on which stated the developer has been notified but no ETA or fix. I have seen on multiple blogs for a past few years people have complained about this same issues. After 2-3 years I would think the system could have been patched?
Anybody else with similar experiences with this product?
I have I like the product and its potential but I disappointed in the support and some features. If these cannot be addressed I would not recommend this product but look at other options and products.

I have connected all harness perfectly however the audio doesnt come on my android mode. Not able to figure out why, it did come for a moment and post that nothing. My standard audio is working perfectly. BTW, there was no optical output from my audio device to the head unit, so i didnt have to make any changes. Is there something i am missing?
I installed the gen2 on my 2014 f32 the screen works but no audio will play not through BT or car play I've doubled checked all my connections. I also tried running the audio jack to my armrest and without it, Anything you think i might be doing wrong?

1) Is it possible to use ConnectedDrive's Internet connection for data for the Android apps, or do you have to use a hotspot?
2) Does Android screen mirroring work through WiFi as well as USB?
3) Can the Apple CarPlay adapter be bought separately afterwards?
4) Can the tiles on the home page be customized, or added/removed?
5) Are major Android upgrades (from v7.1 to v8.0 or v9.0) supported?

So i bought the 10,25 avin android systeem for my e87 2008 with ccc system, so i get a no signal when i want to go to my original idrive system but i cant connect the old white cable to my avin system, how can i fix this??because i cant switch to aux
instead of the gps antenna, if your car has CIC/NBT navi cant you use a splitter or seperate antenna is needed?
Hi great video, one thing I'd love to see is how the avin relays track info to the black panel display, as with my android it can be pretty patchy, some apps work with the display over bluetooth, some only work with usb connection, and also Album art etc. Would love to see a video of all this info with demo of how the black panel display and steering controls work when the avin is running. Thanks.
