BMW F30 & F31 Low Beam Headlight Bulb Replacement DIY (128i, 328i, 528i, 750Li, M3, M5, M6, & more)

►This video covers how to replace a low beam headlight bulb on a BMW F30 & F31 chassis. This will also carry over to halogen and xenon bulbs, as well as F20 2-series, and F30 4-series cars.

Replacing a low-beam headlight bulb is a relatively straightforward task, but on a BMW F30 3-series, you have to take the wheel off in order to do so. Our BMW Catalog Manager, Gareth Foley, is here to walk you through the process step-by-step.

Farshad P says:

Most important part which was putting it back and you skipped

Jaylen D. says:

FYI I just did it on my 320i and I did not need to remove the wheel. It’s be a bit uncomfortable but you can do it.

Shahzeboy 1 says:

You can also do this by just turning the wheels left or right fully to get to the bulb

Wrier Kibbles says:

there is no access panel in my wheel well.

ShunnyLoser24 says:

Anyone know what the tab looks like?

Gonzalo Cuervo says:

Quick! Just Jack the car up and remove the wheels. Quick.

rcart8 says:

Excellent video in terms of cutting through unnecessary info to get at the bulb, but I'd like to meet the motherfucker(s) who designed this asinine headlight housing…please god answer this one prayer! Cheers FCP Euro!

david barlow says:

my 2016 320– the low bulb comes out by cc wise turn

FatManSkip says:

Thank you for making this video short and to the point! I'm also amazed that I gotta take the damn tire off to change a light bulb!

Ales says:

Pain in the ass procedure for the otherwise finely engineered car. I'm pretty sure that the headlight assembly designer needed to justify his/her existence and job in order to design such an over-complicated housing. Terrible design. Great video!

Akshay Singh says:

I changed out my halogen bulbs to Led's and I am getting a malfunction code on my dashboard sometimes when I drive. Is there anyway I can get rid of the malfunction?

Jared Glass says:

I have a 2013 328i is there a difference between the bulbs are they HDI bulbs or regular bulbs?

3 4 Zero U.S.V.I says:

Not for 328i

Langolier says:

Well it is still not as bad as the bringing down the whole front bumper but lift the car take the tire out etc. it is just a light bulb replacement. you open the hood stick your hand behind the headlight take the bulb out put the new one in close the hood … or the European way like this we are lucky they did not put a special lock to reach the head light.

Adonis Amaya says:

You have to take out the whole tire? Wtf you can just go in from the top lol

Ankit Bhavsar says:

Can you access the turn signal bulb from the same panel?

Adam says:

That’s great to get the bulb out and off but now I can’t get it back in place where it is housed.

Adrián José González says:

will this work for 6 series?
