Great video. Very well done step by step process to this common problem.
I'm just going outside now to fix my 3rd busted regulator in 4 years, same right rear window, 2 different E53 X5's.
Door handles will be next aaarrgghh.

Barry Gaffney says:

Mine makes a sort of clicking noise and would not go up using control but after 2 minutes it went up by itself

George K says:

I had both front windows sticking in the down position. Did NOT need to replace the regulators, ONLY needed the rear plastic window clips, one on each door. Already had those from an earlier order. Installed easily. Fixed.

Good work man you made it look easier than it probably is. Should you re seal the vapour barrier with silicone

Thank you for clear, calm and easy-to-follow vid! The only thing I'd add is the plastic backing clip that connects the glass to the regulator is another point of failure that should probably be done at the same time. They're very cheap ( <$2USD ), and mine essentially fell apart in the process. They should really come as part of the kit. Anyway – cheers!

James Nicholas says:

Hello on my 2005 e53 BMW X5 the window switch works, I hear it trying to move the window up and down however it doesn’t move. I have to assist the window with hand. As soon as I do it works but when it goes all the way to the top or all the way to bottom it gets stuck again. Any ideas what may be the issue? I’d really appreciate a response thank you!

My 2003 E53 right rear was the first one to fail. Thanks for posting this. Glad I'm not alone.

Akita Wolf says:

thank you in advance
